A glorious celebration of America’s most storied handpainted wallpaper company, family owned for 125 years, featuring dozens of rooms by today’s top interior designers. The story of Gracie wallpaper, founded in 1898 and still family owned by the sixth generation, is one of the great untold stories of American interior design. Best known for their exquisitely detailed designs, Gracie papers have been installed at the White House and many of America’s most notable homes. They are a go-to resource for interior designers including Mark Sikes, Summer Thornton, Ellie Cullman, Brooke Giannetti, Suzanne Kasler, Michael S. Smith, Alexa Hampton, Alex Papachristidis, and Amanda Lindroth, and Gracie can be found in the homes of celebrities including Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, and Cameron Diaz. This volume, featuring hundreds of color photographs of contemporary rooms by leading interior designers, shows the range not only of the papers themselves—from beautiful florals and birds to panoramic landscapes of American folk scenes and French pastoral hillsides to hunting and maritime scenes—but also the imaginative ways they can be used to create truly transporting spaces. Designs in every imaginable color, from metallics to lush greens and cobalt blues to dramatic reds and blacks, show that with Gracie, any room in the home can become a true, custom work of art. Exquisite production detail on this volume, including 4-color printed page edges and a cover design custom-painted by Gracie exclusively for the book, will make this a must-have gift item that every interior design fan will want to display. Review: Pretty Book to read and show off on your coffee table - LOVE this book! Incredible pictures, the cover is so beautiful its a great book to have styled on your coffee table. I am a picky purchaser of coffee table books after buying a few bummer books. This one met its mark, size of book, clear glossy pictures, formating doesnt shrink images and cover. A great investment to showcase on your coffee table too. Review: Gorgeous, Just Gorgeous - This book is beautiful outside and in, including the page edges, which are printed to match the cover. The photos do the company's hand-painted wallpapers justice, some close-up and others showing complete rooms. It's delicious, every page. Gracie is now managed by the 6th generation of Gracie descendants, having been started in 1898. While Gracie is known for their exquisite works of art painted by artisans for custom placement, the way they present their illustrations makes for a non-stop visual feast. A few pages of text explain the family's story and the history of the company, but most of the 320 pages are of their botanicals, country estate murals, panoramic views, and other varied themes of paintings on wallpaper placed in their clients' homes. We also learn about the company's history with antiques. Like most Rizzoli books, this one is made of excellent paper and linen-textured covers, the usual quality they put into their books. It's weighty, too, so you know you're holding something substantial... that's substantial in more than one way. Though one might not be able to afford Gracie's hand-painted wallpaper, looking through this book is inspiring and stimulates ideas of using wallpaper to enhance one's home. When I need a shot of inspiration, or ideas for a specific color palette, I take time to sit with this book and absorb its images. It feels like taking a mini-vacation to recharge... and dream.

Welcome to the House of Gracie!!
This is the most magnificent publication of the world's most beautiful scenic mural wallpapers. Gracie pioneered mural wallpapers in the US more than 100 years ago. This book brings all these gorgeous designs to life, and you also get to view them as used by the most famous designers past and present in client's homes as well as their own residences. The inspiration is endless. This book is a must own for designers as well as design lovers. The physical book itself is a work of art like you have never seen. Often imitated but never duplicated. Bravo Gracie !!

Beautiful quality book what we wish all interior design books will be
I’m a lover of chinoiserie so this is a must. Go to look at frequently. The cover is worthy of being left out in view if you don’t mind guests turning pages!

Wow! Impressive!
A touch of luxury! A sight that captivates! A thing of beauty, yes, and that beauty is truly a joy forever! I have no words to fully describe this book, it is simply outstanding! I handled this book as if it was a treasure in my hands, delicately turning pages with wonder and delight. Wow! Truly impressive! I was also drawn in to read various sections of the book, the stories behind the beauty and wonder of this amazing craft and the ones behind its inspiration. The drawings on the walls speak volumes and capture the heart. A stunning look into the artistry of splendor.
