Good stuff
Of course, you want to know how it compares to the long-time mainstay. Compared to good old Dr. B, it's...different. But very nice. Both are high-quality, organic soaps. Soap is a very personal thing, so keep that in mind. You're basically comparing a coconut/palm oil soap (Dr. B) with an olive/coconut soap (Carolina). My hope was that the Carolina Castile Soap would be less drying to skin, making it comfortable for shaving and shampoo. I can say that for these uses, Carolina Castile Soap delivers. Compared to ordinary shampoo, for me, olive castile feels a little "gummy" going on. I ignore that - it's because it isn't sucking the oil out of my hair. When it dries, my hair feels good, clean, and my scalp remains comfortable for days. Very good for a general-purpose soap! Less need for expensive specialty organic shampoos. For shaving, I find it excellent. Dr. B works well as a shave soap, too, but the Carolina is easier on my skin. Wet shaving is a super-individual thing. My preference is for fast-and-easy, and castile soaps are great for this. A dollop of soap in my palm, roll the damp brush in it, then build the lather on my face. A little sudsy, not Santa Claus. Some say this stuff is harsh if you get it in your eyes. That's probably true, so don't do that! It's castile soap, not baby shampoo! I've used both the lavender and the peppermint versions, and they both feel great and give an excellent shave. Is it delicate enough for your nether regions? Well, that depends a lot on your local water, and your regions. I find it gentler than Dr. B, but our water is hard...real hard. By the time it reaches the tap, our water's done a couple of years in juvy, and is lookin' at time for Grand Theft Auto. So, dependin', you might want to keep your beauty bar around for that sort of thing. Smell is a very personal thing, so YMMV. I like the Carolina scents. Different from Dr. B, but good. The olive oil in the base affects things, a little. Coconut/palm is probably a wee bit more neutral, but we're not talkin' pasta, here. I buy this as soap, not perfume, so I'll trade a few flowers for happier skin. All in all, the Carolina Castile Soap company is producing some very nice stuff. Worth checking out. A little competition in the castile soap market isn't a bad thing. Dr. B still makes great products (including toothpaste and detergent) and is always fun to read, in that VW microbus kinda way. But Carolina is the real deal, too, and worthy of a place on your shelf.

Ultra-clean, ultra-pure nourishment that cleanses without stripping delicate skin
Finding an authentic natural body wash that leaves your skin feeling thoroughly clean without causing immediate tightness, flaring redness, or dry patches can be a massive challenge. Traditional commercial soaps rely heavily on aggressive, synthetic surfactants and chemical sudsing agents that completely strip away your skin's protective moisture barrier. This natural Castile liquid body wash solves that issue entirely by utilizing a traditional, plant-based oil formulation that naturally purifies while keeping your skin’s delicate ecosystem perfectly balanced. The absolute standout feature of this formula is its strict minimalist approach. Free from harsh sulfates, synthetic fragrances, parabens, and drying alcohols, it relies on saponified organic oils to create a rich, velvety lather that lifts away daily impurities with zero irritation. Because it naturally retains its organic glycerin content, it deeply hydrates and conditions the skin while you wash, making it an exceptional choice for hyper-reactive or easily compromised skin types. It rinses away completely clean with no slippery, artificial residue, leaving your skin feeling genuinely soft, calm, and naturally refreshed.

Natural, lathers great, and smells good
Great alternative to chem filled washes. As a man, I'm going to be honest, some natural soaps that don't provide suds throw me off. This stuff lathers up GREAT. The scent is masculine but mild. If you have sensitive skin, this stuff will be great. The bottle is large and go a LONG way. Super easy to use and doesn't leave you greasy or dry feeling. A bonus - if you run out of laundry detergent, its a natural cleanser for clothing as well.

Pleasant scent that lasts
This is my third purchase of Carolina Castile soaps, and the second of the Tobacco Vanilla scented product. I love the clean, pleasant scent. It’s not overpowering, but does linger after leaving the shower. I use it as body wash and shaving gel for my electric wet shaver. Leaves my skin hydrated - never dry and itchy. I do wish it was thicker, however. It is pretty watery and takes a bit of work to build a lather. Bought the gallon size to save money on refilling the shower dispenser.

Smell is long lasting, quality is high!
I've purchased twice already and plan to purchase again. I'm even going to start using it in different scents for laundry and my own shower gel because it's so versatile and a good value. Someone said the smell won't stick to your skin but I beg to differ. My husband's been using this and I promise I can smell it on him 24 hours later, on his side of the bed when I make our sheets up, and on his clothes when I go to wash them. His skins the healthiest its ever been. It gets along well with our soft water.

Mediocre
Feels great..smells good during application (weak scent), BUT, it will not leave your skin smelling good. You come out of the shower with NO smell whatsoever. This probably isn’t an issue for most, however, I want to radiate an amazing smell from my body wash.

WARNING- Potential Toxic Non-Organic Ingredient (Kukui Oil): OLD: Certified Organic via OTCO
Update 5/26/25: I bought bulk unscented USDA certified organic from the supplier, Stephenson, that supplies most companies. It has 100% certified organic ingredients. You can buy it online from local distributors in 1, 3, 5, 55, 275 gallon etc. quantities. I recommend using PayPal when buying from small online stores. You can find the online distributor that's nearest you using the list on the Stephenson website. Liquid Soap 105 is coconut and sunflower oil and Liquid Soap 101 is coconut and olive oil. Search for "stephenson liquid soap 105" and the "stephensonpersonalcare" website should show up in your search results. Update: 4/26/25 This has a non organic ingredient that can be potentially toxic if not processed properly. Here's the Q and R asking AI about this non-organic ingredient: "What risks are there currently with using non organic Kukui Nut Oil in healthcare products? There are several risks associated with using non-organic Kukui Nut Oil in healthcare products. Some of these risks include: Contamination with pesticides and heavy metals: Non-organic Kukui Nut Oil may be extracted from nuts that have been treated with pesticides, herbicides, or other chemicals, which can be harmful to human health. Presence of solvent residues: Non-organic Kukui Nut Oil may be extracted using solvents such as hexane, which can leave behind residues that can be toxic to humans. Higher risk of allergic reactions: Non-organic Kukui Nut Oil may be more likely to cause allergic reactions due to the presence of impurities or contaminants. Inconsistent quality: Non-organic Kukui Nut Oil may vary in quality, which can affect its efficacy and safety in healthcare products. Potential for adulteration: Non-organic Kukui Nut Oil may be adulterated with other oils or substances, which can affect its safety and efficacy. Lack of regulation: The production and labeling of non-organic Kukui Nut Oil may not be subject to the same level of regulation as organic products, which can make it difficult to ensure safety and quality. It's worth noting that organic Kukui Nut Oil is generally considered to be a safer and more sustainable option, as it is produced without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or other harmful chemicals. However, it's always important to choose a reputable supplier and to follow proper safety protocols when using any oil in healthcare products." OLD: This has the same OTCO certification that Bronner's castille soap has and it sells for a fraction of the price. This is a no brainer, instant buy. I use this for everything to avoid toxic chemicals exposure. A great high performance shower foamer (similar to gym ones, but this one works even better w/1mL output) is this one: TOLCO Top Perfoamer Foam Soap Dispenser, 32 Oz, 4.75 X 7 X 9, Black https://a.co/d/iNq0N7m I also use this high-output, food-grade dispenser to fill all my soap containers. It fits right on the standard 1 gal. jugs and dispenses 1 fl oz. with each push. Snappy Popcorn Syrup Pump Dispenser for Gallon Jug, 1 Ounce, White https://a.co/d/2vziyMm Update (12/3/24): Ordered the 5 gal version and it makes this product an even better value. I fill up my existing 1 gal. containers which all have the high-flow pump dispenser mentioned earlier. Great product and even better price with the volume buy. Highly recommend the 5 gal. option for an even better value.

Great natural product for household use
I use it to make handwash liquid and household cleaner, it does not dry my hands. Also, I add it to my laundry along with washing detergent, washing soda and tea tree oil/eucalyptus oil, the results are good and smell good.
