I love this! Bought me a case of wide mouth canning jars fill them up with various things then seal it with this. It is great for keeping moisture out of brown sugar and reusable. If at some point it won't reseal just get another lid.

This unit is compact and symmetrical, unlike some others out there. It accommodates both regular and wide mouth canning jars. I have not attempted to use them on other jars that use the same size mouth as regular or wide such as you can buy pasta sauce in. This sealer has an easy twist bottom to remove the lower part to access the wide mouth section, back on and it's the regular mouth section. It charges using the enclosed USB C cable and the screen on the top will show you your charge level when it's plugged in and when you press the seal button.After putting your dry goods in and placing the accurate lid on; you press firmly straight down until a small click is heard and you can't push it down anymore. This does require a bit of effort to push as well as pull when it's done and you're taking it off, which is why the 4 stars. People with strength issues due to injury, age, etc. may find it hard. I also think this is necessary for the seal to work or the unit will not function properly. Once in place you simply push the start button. A second countdown will show in the screen and you will hear the unit "sucking" the air out. It takes about 20 seconds or less and you'll hear the air make a higher pitch and the unit screen will also shut down and stop. You pull straight up to remove it and your lid is sealed. shake the jar, pick it up by the lid edge and it will not open so your jar is sealed, and the food inside should stay fresher longer.You easily pop it open with the included tool when you want to access the food, and if there is still some left, just put the lid back on, place the sealer unit back on it and seal it again. If you have problems with your dry goods getting stale or live in a humid area and have issues with pesky bugs like ants getting in your pantry, weavels etc. then this is a good way to keep your food safe and last longer. Canning jars are usually available second hand if you look at yard sales etc. Glass just needs to be washed and sanitized in simmering water on the stove.

Absolute must if you want food items to stay fresh for a long time. Easy to use. Easy to reopen the jars when needed. I love this product!!! Wish I had one of these a few years ago.

I thought it sounded like a great idea when I bought it. I should have known that it was too good to be true.

We like to have freeze dried food around. Partly for quick dinners because we have food allergies and eating out isn't much of an option and partly because we like to camp and freeze dried food is great for that. I like to make meals up in one jar so its just dump and add water to cook but we also live in a humid climate so freshness is very key where we're at. I've made a couple of different things so far and everything looks great. I've only opened one of them and it was sealed perfectly so I feel better about how the others went. My only complaint is I have early arthritis in my hands so I've had to ask my teen son and husband to help me with sealing and unsealing these. So long as I have one of them around I'll ultimately be fine but 1) I don't like depending on others for getting things done/having to organize my day around when others are available and 2) this isn't something my jar opener can help me with as it requires a special tool to open it/get it set up to seal with also requires its own hand strength.

I have changed over everything in my pantry to labeled mason jars.
