Squier by Fender Debut Stratocaster Beginner Electric Guitar, Dakota Red

It was identified as a must have by my Son, currently he is into Dire Striates and was keen to recreate the same sound. after he had done an amount of research, it appears it was similar to the one Mark Knopfler used. what can be said the sound is crips and everything my Son wanted, he has been more than impressed and has not stopped playing it. he is pleased with the finish of the guitar and the quality was as expected. The big plus side for me was the price, it appears you get a lot of guitar for not too much money.

Got this guitar after not playing for 10-15 years. Last electric I had was a Fender strat 1962 USA reissue which I had customised with bass frets and heavy strings (Srv period lol). Anyway I didn't expect much from this guitar. Got it and was blown away by the quality of the thing. My only gripe was sharp end frets (painful to play on lol) I but this was easily sorted by a quick fret file down and dress. This and a little setup and seriously - this thing feels and sounds better than my previous USA strat which cost around 1700 all in! Got this on sale for like 110 and honestly it's the BEST guitar I've ever owned. Treated myself to a Boss Katana combo amp and the sound from this guitar is amazing. So for this guitar I would say for out the box: Build quality - 7 (only because of the fret issue but paintwork etc is superb) TONE - 8 (sounds amazing and depending on how hard/soft you play, I and where you play on the neck as well as where you strum, you can get so many different tones from this guitar) Asthaetics/looks - 9 (I got the sunburst and this thing looks brilliant). Overall - 8 (amazing price, so overall great build quality other than fret issue - and sharp frets which pop out from neck, perhaps due to wood shrinking as it dries). Brilliant guitar. I can't see how this guitar thru something like a boss katana could be bettered as far as a great starter guitar its more than that. This guitar setup properly will not only be a starter guitar but it will be with you for the rest of your life. It's that good. AMAZING.

I recently started playing again. Wanted a Stratocaster guitar as I used to own a USA Strat many years ago. This seemed like a bargain and some decent reviews on YouTube. Mostly it's a good guitar. Nice finish, neck is good and well adjusted for relief. Everything works. Bad points, action was a little high, bridge is awful, it was under full tension, and locked down to the body. This seemed to cause intonation issues too. I tried adjusting it, but had to give up having a floating bridge. Just would not stay in tune. I've reset it, adjusted string height and intonation now OK. Bridge will give some downward wobble only, not floating. All in all quite happy for the price but you may need to tweak to get it up to a good guitar. Sound is very good. Nice Stratocaster nasal honk.

Great beginners guitar(recommended newbies purchase the whole kit)as an affordable guitar it's great value,as guitar you can upgrade it's good for that.i have upgraded mine. Will need some adjustment in the future eg intonation etc. 10 out of 10

I don’t mean to wax lyrical but… wow. I paid £102 for this and I’m blown away. Ok it’s got cheap parts and materials etc etc but wasn’t this Leo Fenders dream to mass produce a guitar accessible to all. Kind of the Henry Ford of the guitar world. I’ve owned numerous mid priced fenders and even some cheap ones like the fender marauder. Ok the electronics could be better but not for the price. The main thing is that this thing is fun and addictive to play. Added bonus you don’t have to take out a second mortgage for it or insurance policy. Surely the MIA mustangs were once frowned upon by the guitar aficionados but look at their price now battered and used. Likewise when squier set up in Japan in the early 80’s nobody wanted to know that is until fender America realized how close to the original Leo fender products they were making. I’ve owned fender MIM teles, MIJ teles, MIM jazzmasters, a JV P bass from circa 1983 and I can honestly say I am now the proud owner of a MIC debut P bass and strat. Maybe they’ll hold the same kudos in years to come. I just know that regardless of what the guitar market and aficionados say that Leo would be proud having fulfilled his dream… no matter what. So long as you’re playing and having fun, meditating, experimenting you’ve got nothing to loose and money just cannot buy that… believe me I’ve tried!

The best squire I’ve owned bar none, I’ve had Chinese, Korean bullet, affinity etc, and this is by far the lightest and stable squire I’ve owned. Tuning is superior to the prior ones I’ve owned, fret work as good as Mexican made, pickups for the money are best sounding ceramic I’ve heard, the green surf is not as nice looking or feeling as the Mexican obviously but again for the money, cannot knock this at all. This squire new model is great value for money.

Got this as my first electric guitar, having never played the guitar before, and it's fab, particularly for the cost. I'm sure if I knew more about guitars I could adjust it on someway that might make it sound better or what-not, but even so, as it was straight out of the box, it sounds lovely, and better than I was expecting having read other reviews here about it needing some adjustment!

Ottima chitarra per chi inizia a suonare. La qualità è davvero buona per essere un modello entry level Fender: ben costruita, comoda da suonare e con un suono più che soddisfacente per lo studio e la pratica quotidiana. Il manico è scorrevole e facilita l’apprendimento, mentre l’estetica è quella classica Fender che non delude mai. Rapporto qualità-prezzo eccellente. Consigliatissima a chi vuole avvicinarsi alla chitarra con uno strumento affidabile. 🎸

Item description did not mention if this is new or refurbished. It came in bubble wrappers with no original packaging. And the item was not in perfect order

Auspacken, Sichtkontrolle, keine Mängel, nicht so schwer wie die originale Strat aber überraschend gut zu spielen . Ein Mal Stimmen und loslegen die erste Gitarre bei der ich Nichts korrigieren musste. Die originale Strat klingt ja schon etwas fetter, braucht aber auch mehr Feintuning. So muss die ideale Gitarre zum Proben und für Neueinsteiger sein.

Excelente calidad-precio. Ideal para tu primera guitarra.
