I purchased this so I wouldn't have to worry about the 30 minute recording limit on my D850 DSLR. I have recorded several hours of footage unattended without problem, all as one file (as long as your card isn't formatted as FAT32 where you'll get 4GB splits). Video quality at 4K30 in HEVC at highest supported bitrate (30 Mbps) is great and virtually indistinguishable to the 100 Mbps H264 that my D850 puts out, at least to my eyes. Build quality is acceptable. Light, but solid plastic body. A tripod mount would have been useful, however. Battery life seems to be only a few hours, even with the display off, but I would keep this plugged in for long recordings anyway. Software is where this device could have exceeded expectations. A few video monitoring features like histogram, focus peaking, grids, LUTs, etc. would make this the perfect budget recording monitor. A recording time remaining display would have also been nice. PC connection feature is useful, but only works as a 1080P30 UVC capture device, which can be useful in a pinch. Overall, it works great for what I needed it for as there are few HDMI recorders on the market that record 4K at this price point.

It came very well packed with plenty of cushion so there was no damage to the screen or any parts! It comes with the device as well as some cords that you can use to connect it to your PC or phone. I have used this a handful of times and so far it has worked seamlessly with my computer. I can easily transfer all the files that I capture over to my editing device and everything is very smooth and high quality. The picture on it is absolutely great as well as the audio that it transfers over. I really could not be happier with this and I feel like it is definitely worth every penny just by how good the quality is and how easily it's used. Set up on this was super easy and the manual that it comes with was very helpful and easy to understand for getting everything set up and ready to go. If you're looking for a good video capture device I definitely recommend this one! I feel like it definitely compares to the more high quality luxury ones on the market which is definitely saying something! If you are thinking about it just go for it! You won't regret it!
