I want to start this off by saying I’m incredibly surprised by a couple of the negative reviews on this seat. I did A LOT of homework before purchasing a car seat and, while there are a number of competitive options, this one was the clear winner in the areas that matter most - safety and transparency (they’re one of the few companies that publish the results of their crash tests). We had our first one for two years and I loved it. I always felt like our LO was super safe in it because it is a TANK. It’s clearly made with quality materials and with safety as the highest priority. In fact, we were in an accident (not a rollover or anything, but WAY more than a fender bender) and she came out of it totally unscathed. At the end of the day that’s really all I care about. If I had anything negative to say it’s that I agree that it IS very big and very heavy which makes installation more challenging (it’s not difficult beyond positioning the seat), but both are a functionality of how safe this seat is and I would pay that price every day. When we replaced the seat following the accident I didn’t even consider any other. And for those of you for whom aesthetic is a variable, it’s also a very nice looking seat. Clean lines and good color options. I’m looking to buy a seat for our other car now and this is still my first choice.

I bought the Clek Liing infant seat and loved it so much that I got the Foonf for the next size up. Will continue to buy Clek products. They’re built well and make me feel like I’m keeping my babies safe.

It’s a great car seat, yes but it is so heavy which makes it hard to move and fit just right. Also the zipper I thought was going to be great for cleaning, just as I was installing it the zipper pulled apart and broke! Very disappointing for an almost 600$ car seat. Going to buy the Nuna Rava. Should have listened to my gut.

Installed in the back of my 911 forward facing. Fits my 2 year old just fine as long as I make them sit cross legged before closing the front seat. This will be used for back roads for now but when they are older we can graduate to the freeway. I got the Railroad zip color and it is simply black on black which fits my black on black car perfectly. Certainly looks better than most of the car seats I was looking at Target. Super easy to adjust the harness and crotch belt a size up to fit them better. I’ll update if anything goes wrong. First drive went well for a 20+ min ride to see Halloween decorations.

Major safety concerns, don’t buy! Order two car seats (Railroad Zip), same day. Received two seats with dates of manufacture about a month apart. The car seats are very different. They have different strap thicknesses and chest clips. I know chest clips are just positioning, but the straps are absolutely essential for safety. I expect consistency of materials in something that’s supposed to be crash tested. Another red flag for me was that one car seat was completely missing the lock offs (quality control failure). I emailed, they didn’t seem phased, and offered a temporary fix that did not work one bit. I had to buy another set of seats to use. For the price of these seats, I’d have expected better. I’m not even sure how this is legal for the cheapest of seats.

We needed a convertible car seat and still need rear facing, unfortunately after reading the directions we found out that wasn’t possible in this seat. Had to return it.

LOVE this car seat. Durable, large and extremely safe. It keeps my child rear facing the longest of any I’ve seen, and we will use it forward facing after too. Versatile and long lasting, will use for all future children too.
