Never used anything like this before so here’s what I think of it firstly excellent value for money if it finds a nail and stops me putting it through my planer then saves me a lot of time and money started using it as soon as it arrived and it spotted every nail in the wood I was using never missed one as a metal detector first class function is easy as pie looks to be waterproof but not planning on getting it wet so easy to use at first kept finding nails that I couldn’t see no matter how I searched turned out I was holding the wood on my leg and it was picking my keys up in my pocket so functionality is perfect I look forward to a long and happy relationship with this little tool it’s brilliant so far it definitely works I’m really surprised

I bought this as I was working with some reclaimed timber that in some cases had nails or other metal pieces in it (and not always visible).Worked well and for £15, it's less than half the price of a new blade in my planer, so well worth getting one and saving the blade and the time it takes to replace it!

Excellent little gadget which I got to check for nails in wood I am cutting. More sensitive than another security type one I use too. Lightweight and small enough not to get in the way but easy to use. Can't say how long battery will last as I don't use it for hours at a time but expect it to be a fair amount of time. Fairly robust which also is useful in a workshop environment.

Great we found a shire horse shoe on our first dig, my boy was over the moon…this came in handy ;)

Absolutely brilliant for the price, we are novices to MD but just used it every day for the last week in conjunction with our MD. We watched a few videos where they used a much more expensive version of the same thing, can't say this was less effective and actually vital.

It was broken on the first use where the battery connector fell off.

Great bit if kit for the price does what's it says on the tin
