Pretty cool. I know nothing about this kind of toy. I bought this for my Son’s birthday in July. So I have to try it out before the return period is over (in case this does not work). So my review is from Mom’s perspective and I had to ask my husband to operate it. LOL. Yeah, I always buy gift when I see a great deal or so I don’t have to scramble at the last minute. First. Packaging, It is a standard packaging, with zip tie. I am not sure if I got a return product or not but the zip ties for the remote has been cut, but the rest looks to be intact. Funny thing is the screw for the battery cover of the excavator is missing. It also wasn’t package properly so the rubber on the wheel bend a bit. Not sure how much it will impacting the movement on the uneven terrain Sounds, At first I got so annoy with the constant sounds but fortunately my husband figure out that we can turn off the ongoing sound. There is still beeping sounds when the excavator rotating or backing off, a warning sounds as in the real excavator. The sounds is very loud tho. Movement Movement on our bamboo flooring is awesome, very smooth and easy to maneuver. The top part can rotate around 360 degrees from all the way to the left to all the way to the right. About 160 degrees from the center rotate to the right and 210 degrees from the center rotate to the left. Scoop. The scoop movement is very smooth and the position make it seems that we should be able to scoop something from the ground. I didn’t try it on sand or dirt, I do have concern that it might not be able to handle the weight of the sand or dirt that being scooped up. The scoop made of plastic (almost all part made of plastic, except the connection area). The scoop and the joint for the scoop does not seems strong enough to be able to handle to scoop sand/dirt. I will have to wait until my son try it out and pray hoping that it won’t break at first try Appearance As I mentioned is mostly made of plastic but the finish is so good made it looks like metal. Look pretty well made and seems solid (until you start playing with the scoop). Other than the scoop area, everything else seems solid. Remote There are a lot of thing that can be done/control with this remote. Forward, backward, left, right and rotate. There are different sounds that a bit different to distinguish some movement. I can live without the ongoing sounds but for kids I can see that might be one of the appealing things from this kind of toy. So the choice would be listening to the sounds from the excavator or the sounds from my son’s mouth imitating the engine LOL… I am glad it can be turned off tho, otherwise I might have to return this….:P Summary: I am reserving 4 until my son can try it out himself. From my perspective it deserve 4 except for the packaging, and not certain with the durability of the scoop. Overall it is a great toy.

Came in as expected

I waited four months to write a review because I wasn't sure this would last. While the kid's interest in it has waned a little, this toy has been loved! Sometimes it starts to respond oddly to the remote, but every time it's solved by charging the battery.

excellent toy for child. Must buy for birthday gift to them. Its machine is working fine and enjoyable experience to child. we are highly satisfied with it.

Ordered for my son’s birthday and opened the package thinking the controller was underneath. There was not a controller in the box so I emailed the manufacturer, which I haven't heard back from. However, was able to easily return the package and Amazon shipped a new one promptly. My son loves playing with his excavator in the sandbox. It actually digs and does all the movement of a real one.

Decent function but not very strong and hard to maneuver. Would be good for small children. Not very good quality though.
