Surprisingly Spacious, Secure, and Perfectly Comfortable — A Brilliant Minimalist Running Belt
I already own two running vests for longer runs (one Osprey and one Salomon), but I wanted something smaller and compact for hot, short runs. Having looked at various reviews, I opted for Salomon. I bought the Salomon Pulse Belt (Large, Black) after debating the sizing, and I’m really glad I went for the large. For context, I typically wear medium in most sports gear, but my waist is a true 36” even though I wear 34” jeans. According to Salomon’s sizing guide, I was right on the border between medium and large, and the large fits me perfectly; snug, secure, and very form‑fitting without ever feeling tight. The material used is very stretchy and soft, and has good wicking properties and dries quickly. I took it out for a 5km, very hot, trail run to test it properly, and it exceeded my expectations. It’s incredibly lightweight, sits flat against the body, and I didn’t notice any movement or bounce at all. Once it’s on, it genuinely disappears, but it somehow holds far more than you’d think. It’s basically the TARDIS of running belts. To help other runners see what it can carry, I recorded a short video of me emptying it after my run (and please forgive my amateurish filming - it's not something I do frequently, but I wanted to give some real-world context). From the front pocket, I pull out an iPhone 12 in a case, a house key, an AirPods Pro 3 case, and lip balm. From the rear pocket, I removed a full 500ml Osprey soft flask, and from the trekking‑pole loops I took out a packable Asics runners’ rain jacket. I could also get a couple of energy gels or chews if I wanted, as there is enough room left. It looks like a lot of faff in the video, but honestly, once you’ve used the belt a couple of times, getting things in and out becomes second nature. The 4‑way stretch material is breathable and comfortable, and the belt stays exactly where you put it. No rubbing, no shifting, no sagging, even with the flask and jacket loaded. For short runs, longer trail outings, or days when you don’t want a vest, this is a brilliant minimalist option. If you’re between sizes, I’d strongly recommend going up. The large gives me a secure fit without any looseness, and I’m on the lower end of that size range. Overall, this is a superb running belt: discreet, stable, and capable of carrying far more than you’d expect. I managed to get it on a special offer at £29.99 in late June 2026, and it is definitely worth it.

Small item that carries a surprisingly large amount!
I Recently took up running and my husband bought me this belt to carry my phone etc. I originally wasn’t very keen when I first saw it but from first use I was so impressed. It sits well on the waist, fits an amazing amount of items in it including an iPhone pro max, gels, running gloves, house keys etc. It doesn’t bounce or move about whilst I run. In fact I often forget I have it on. The quality is excellent as you would expect from Salomon and it enhances my running as it keeps my hands free - overall good value for money

Very good running belt
I really love this belt. I didn't think a running vest was for me so I tried out the pulse belt (small size), and loved it. The front zipped pocket stores my phone, keys, running gels, and a creme egg. Back pocket is open but nothing ever falls out of it - I use it to store my windproof. Can hold a surprising amount of stuff and doesn't feel overly bulky. My only issue with it is that occasionally it will ride up if im wearing a certain material for leggings, even with the grippy material on the inside of the belt. This only happens occasionally and when wearing more slippery material, so I know not to wear together. I am a size 10 woman, and it fits very comfortably around the waist. I've done plenty of half marathons wearing this and all my long runs - never let me down

Well made, great for trail runs
Comfortable, well made and really useful for trail runs when you don’t want to carry a full vest. Plenty of stashable storage and a zipped pouch for keys / phone.

Great
Fantastic product. You hardly know it is there and fits well on the waist. You do not notice any bouncing unless you absolutely ram it full of gels or anything else. I had to take off a jacket when running and it fit in the back without issue.

It's okay but not worth £30 at all
It's okay but not worth the money at all. Holds your phone and gels fine but I thought there would be more pockets to store more things. Packed mine with 6 gel packets which press on the material and will cause holes to form in the elastic overtime I think. Whilst running it's okay, tends to stay in place quite well. Wish I'd gone for a cheaper belt with more usability.

My favourite item for long runs
I’ve tried vests, arm straps, and shorts with pockets—but without a doubt, this is my favourite item for long runs. The zippered pocket fits my phone securely, and there’s enough space in the back for gels or even an extra bottle of water. Comfortable, practical, and incredibly reliable.

Fantastic product
Absolutely love this running belt. Can easily fit my pro max iPhone and keys in the secure zip pocket and then energy gels stay securely in the other pocket. Belt stays perfectly in position while running. Highly recommend.
