Great quality ceramic pans but standard lids do not fit!
Most nonstick frying pans are unsafe when heated over 350F, regardless of what they tell you. True ceramic should be safer - that's my hope - that it's not only safer, but will hold up well if treated well, and the nonstick ceramic surface will endure. That's my hope. This particular line of Caraway pans is rated by Consumer Reports as one of the most nontoxic, nonstick pans out there. So I tried it. I love the (blue) color. It's sturdy (and heavy to go along with it.) I like the "bump" in the metal handle to warn you when you might be getting too close to the heat. The packaging was almost overkill, but awesome. One would hate to get new pans that had chips or dents from their travels. Caraway made sure that wouldn't happen. And I did manage to pry the boxes open, lol. The nonstick ceramic surface is just that. Nonstick. The pans have no warp - they sit flat on the stove, just as they should. 10" and 8" are the most used sizes for frying/sauteing. But let's talk about the lids. THERE ARE NONE. And I quickly learned that standard sizes won't fit. I sent for a few different "universal" lids. One "fits" but takes up a crazy amount of room in my drawer. Three others don't fit at all, even though they are versatile, "universal". They had their own range of quality, but all cost between $13 and $20, a reasonable price for a decent lid. After looking on Amazon, I looked in the Caraway store. Why yes, they actually do have lids that will fit, but $55 to $70 each! Are you kidding me? That's crazy! Or maybe it's not. Maybe when you design your pans, you make them just different enough that they're incompatible with other lids and your proprietary lids are required. You might be able to force your customers to buy your outrageously priced lids because we do need lids! * If this is an oops, Caraway ought to offer decently-priced lids, as an apology. * If this is purposeful, Caraway ought to hang their heads in shame. Until this is rectified, I'm not inclined to be a Caraway fan. Without the lid issue, I would have given 5 stars. I thought about 2 stars, because the lids are a big deal, but (so far, at least) I do think the pans are a good enough quality that they deserve a higher rating. So, 3 it is - at least for now. I spent an hour this morning comparing internal diameter and external diameter with a variety of other lids here on Amazon. I've sent for a couple more lids, hoping one or both will work...we'll see.

Good For Home Use Where It Can Be Properly Cared For
Good heat distribution. Nice a heavy. Handle doesn’t get too hot. But, it just couldn’t stand up to the abuse received at the Airbnb. It lasted less than a year.

Really are non-stick pans!
Truly outstanding product. We already owned an 11-piece set but wanted another couple of fry pans so we ordered this 2-piece set. They really are non-stick -- clean-up is very easy even if the food is overcooked and won't just slide off the pan. Just oak it for 30 seconds and all comes clean with a soft sponge. My only wish as that Caraway included tops along with the pans.

Easy to clean up!
These non-stick pans are very well made in USA! Smooth ergonomic handles. Easy to clean! They are so nice I won't let anyone else use them!

Good product, but with some major engineering flaws
I REALLY want to give these pans 5 stars - I do. There are some really critical engineering flaws with these pans that prevents me from doing so. 1. The handles are somewhat short, and if you are cooking something over high / medium heat for a long period of time (e.g. chicken breast), the heat from the plan transfers down the handle and the handle becomes extremely hot where you would naturally grip it. I've almost burned myself trying to grab my pans while I cook before. This is a huge design flaw that their engineers need to look at. I have other nonstick brands and stainless steel pans that don't have this problem. 2. The outside of these pans is nearly impossible to clean. So even though they're beautiful on purchase, they won't last that way, even with the most diligent cleaning and care. 3. The nonstick coating chips far too easily. Yes, I understand their marketing campaign is all about "nothing lasts forever", but for this price tag, it needs to be more durable and last longer. I'm going through about a pan a year. I can't keep spending this kind of money on cookware. I follow the manufacturer's instructions, I use their fancy sponges, I don't use any kind of stainless steel or metal cookware when I am using them....doesn't matter.
