Update: After five months, I’ve experienced frequent disconnections from the main network to the satellite even when connected via a wired backhaul. Resetting the device doesn’t help either. If I’m on a call and move between access points, my call either drops or stutters and then drops. This behaviour didn’t occur initially, so I won’t recommend this product. Too expensive and very restrictive and now unreliable. Original review: I’ve used Orbi 970 for a few days and these are my thoughts on the system. First, the system defaults to the UK region, which is greyed out, and you cannot change it to the UAE (or other regions). Additionally, you can’t select or modify the 6GHz band settings, which might be frustrating for users looking for more control over their network. Regarding Multi-Link Operation (MLO), it appears to primarily be used for backhauling. Since I have both the main unit and satellite connected via Ethernet, I’m uncertain if MLO benefits client devices in any meaningful way. While the system generally performs well, these restrictions on region settings, 6GHz customization, and unclear MLO functionality for clients could be improved to better suit advanced users.

After using it for a few months, orbis are extremely unstable, there are routers and wifi mesh networks for a fraction of the price that perform better - this is a complete waste of money and extremely horrible wifi mesh - stay away at all costs, look elsewhere. A huge waste of money - shocking how poor the performance is for such a high cost product

I now reliably reach speeds over 1 gigabit in the outskirts of my apartment, and the satellite's wireless link to the main unit is as fast as it's be over cable. Without having to lay cables from the living room to the office, I now have close to 8 gigabit network speeds on my office computer. It's a beast. That said, the UI could be better, the constant nagging to buy their security addon shouldn't be a thing on a device this expensive, and I'm not sure it's worth the price.

I don’t normally leave reviews but I had to for this item. I’ve read a lot of negative reviews and I was initially put off but I took the plunge and brought the 970 2 pack. It was a great decision as they have been flawless, they are super fast with great coverage if placed in the right locations around the home. I also hardwired my units for the best connection for the backhaul. Honestly they are the best, just take a chance and you won’t regret it. Set up was easy, just know your ISP login and make sure they have a software update. I know they are pricey but if you want the best, they are the best.

Genuinely one of the worse devices I have ever owned. The entire Orbi ecosystem is trash, and doesn't work. I have had constant drops, system crashes, replacements, fixes and nothing. I am yet to actually have a working network since I purchased these devices.

Ok so far so good From me I have no issues with the orbi 970 at all, and it works as per expected Now, while I read reviews about solid brick walls stopping the Wi-Fi signal what do people expect from a Wi-Fi signal, solid brick walls will stop Wi-Fi signals no matter what router and brand you purchase Yes, Wi-Fi signals don't suffer as much if any while in a property made from plasterboard and wood but bricks it will, so with that said and looking at the orbi 970, I find the orbi 970 better than my last orbi RBK50 In regard to the orbi tech I've been running this system for 10 years near on via my first purchase being the orbi RBK50 With the orbi I have simply given up on all range extenders on the market as the product works for me where range extenders did not not only does it serve my needs but its stylish and fits right in with my home Now getting back to the orbi more so the Orbi 970 While price is a bit on the steep side, I did do my homework prior to my purchase With my homework I noted the working speck of the unit where sadly I could not find another router / mesh system with the same or better speck when I talk speck, I don't talk about what Internet speed it can handle I speak of the unit and unit only, hence while looking at the data rates these units can processes, I don't seem to be able to find anything on the market that comes close to the Orbi 970 While having enough knowledge on how to set these units up I only have positive thoughts At present I have two units, one being the router and the other being the satellite. With my set up I have over 35 smart home items connected to the orbi ecosystem, and as per expected everything works just as it should. At present I have an abundance of various Wi-Fi smart home plugs connected to various items throughout my property to which can be controlled from anywhere in the world, this is without being able to not only control my heating from across the globe but also turn on and off the tv and or change its viewing channel along with other things I can do, further to this and with the assistance from Alexa my needs are met. For myself and as per my last Orbi RBK50 set-up I find the Orbi 970 range perfect for my needs Finally in regard to Wi-Fi speeds for mobile phones, I can in all honesty state that prior to purchasing a new phone three months ago being a Samsung 25-ultra my old phone was only getting around 350mbps out of the 500mbps that i pay for via my isp via Wi-Fi. Now, while stating the 350mbps i used to get from both my old orbi system AND this orbi system being the 970 range I have however since found that since changing my phone to a Samsung 25-ultra I DO receive in excess of 520 to 540mbps via my Samsung 25-ultra, so in all said I can state that the data processing of the Samsung 25-ultra outweighs my old phone, so in a nut shell phones have a big impact on how much data it will process for Wi-Fi, hence if you own a cheap phone you may or may not obtain full Wi-Fi speeds as your phone cannot process the speeds required, this i state in regards to phones the better the mobile phone i.e. the better the chip in the phone the faster the dater rate will be seen via the end user as per myself now being the owner of a Samsung 25-ultra yes, top of the range phones are expensive but so too is a pc and if you're a gamer you not going to purchase as cheap pc as it won't have a decent processor or a graphics card and as such processors count in all aspects of life while looking at data rates!! for everyone out there I hope my review is helpful where I leave it in your hands to be judge and jury should you wish to purchase the orbi 970 for myself to date I don't have anything to complain about regarding the orbi 970 or my old orbi RBK50 set up in fact, as per my old set up it is still working some 9 years after purchase while being loved by its new owner Have a nice day all
