LaCie 2TB Rugged Thunderbolt USB-C External SSD - Orange

I am a photographer and purchased two of these (5TB each) to use as my main backup. I figured the transfer speeds would be better with USB-C connectivity with my Mac.Within a few months, my computer had trouble recognising the drive with more recent backups and, hence, more used, as the USB-C port failed. Seagate had sent me a replacement drive, which was not a new one but a certified repair product. Soon, my second drive failed too, and not too long after, the replacement drive failed too. All of them had the problem of the port going bad. I now have two replacement drives from Seagate, and I don't know how long these will last. Needless to say, I no longer use these Lacie drives for my primary backups.Stay away from these drives.

Small problem heating

As a college student, freelance photographer and graphic designer, and works on my personal laptop for my current job- this has changed my life(seriously it’s done wonders). I kept running out of space on my Mac for the longest time because of all the files I had stored and the programs I constantly used. This external hard drive was recommended to me and it is so easy to use and is super reliable! It’s easy to travel with as I bring it everywhere and the fact that it was designed with a rubber casing puts me more at ease that there’s a lesser chance of it getting damaged. I totally recommend this!!

Por temas de protección por accidentes decidí comprarlo. Bien hay opciones para proteger los disco externos pero ya llevo 3 perdidas. Lacie ya los había visto y he visto muy buenas opiniones. Hasta el momento me ha ayudado bastante. El puerto usb c acelera más la lectura y escritura. Todo muy bien .

This review is for the LaCie Rugged SSD Pro 1TB Solid State Drive — USB-C Thunderbolt 3. I'm using it as an external SSD for a Mac Mini w/ Thunderbolt 3. It comes formatted in exFAT which works on both Mac and PCs but it will be dedicated to a Mac Mini so it's best formatted as APFS for best speed. It took about 1sec to do that. It copied a movie file of 70 GB from the internal SSD in less than 10 sec. To do an encrypted Time Machine backup of the entire 256 GB SSD internal storage it took less than 15 mins. It's blazing fast and I'm impressed. Small enough to fit in a shirt pocket and super light. Unless I have a problem and need to come back to update this review it stands as it is.

PRODUTO:Eu comprei o "LaCie Rugged (Robusto) SSD Externo” de 2TB (STHR2000800).O produto é uma fofura, super pequeno e do tamanho da palma da mão (e não é o "Mini Robusto"). Pena que a porta de saída USB-C (lugar onde conecta o cabo que vem junto) do SSD externo não tenha uma tampa de proteção. O que é estranho, pois a LaCie afirma que esse SSD tem o IP67 de segurança, mas com a saída USB-C sem nenhuma vedação, recebe poeira e, se for o caso, água também. Então, não entendo esse selo da LaCie, se é seguro realmente. Bom, eu que não vou correr o risco de testar. Mas a LaCie pecou muito nisso porque recebe sim poeira. O cabo é bom e espesso, o que evita quebra ou rompimento fácil, demonstrando nenhuma fragilidade.O produto em si parece ser bom e não parece apresentar defeitos, mas só com o uso que eu poderei saber e ter certeza, pois eu ainda não efetuei a instalação para usá-lo.
