Single piece chef knife
This is a single piece steel chef knife which you could probably use for most kitchen tasks. Nice and weighty!

A keening disappointment that cuts a cook to the quick--unlike this knife, which cannot cut a thing
First there was the farce of the knife being sent to another country and never coming back. OK, fine, it happens. I reported it, Amazon cancelled the order, I re-ordered, and the second knife was dispatched and arrived very quickly. But the knife that arrived has been given an edge to split logs with, i.e. it has a very wide bevel. Also, it just isn't sharp. The EoB plastic case it came in holds the blade but not the handle, and the blade had slipped out of its slot and had probably been dulling itself on the plastic for who-knows-how-many years. You can see from the video that the knife has the edge of a trowel, so possibly I shall use it to lay mortar... Even worse, the blade is nicked. I've tried to show this in the photos, but it's hard to get the right angles/lighting/zoom. Never mind, you've seen how "well" it cuts. When I get my hands on my sharpening stones (currently 6,000 miles away) I shall probably be able to work out the nicks. I give the knife two stars because it has nice balance and may well be made of a decent steel. Once I manage to give it an actual cutting edge, I may return to amend this review.

Lovely but slippery
Lovely knives. They look great and the handles, despite being angular, are very comfortable. However, the black coating applied to this range in particular is a little too slippery. I returned and purchased the Arondight models which are bare brushed metal and offer better grip.
