Solid value and construction
Much better than another option I immediately returned for lack of quality. Blade is solid and firm. Only used it for sabering holiday champagne <successfully> so far but plan on using this to carve out little dove hunting hides in junipers too. In short, it's versatile for multiple critical pursuits :-)

Good quality and a nice balance
Perfect length and I like the grip/ handle. Out the box sharp. Definitely a must have for the yard or end of world scenario.

Good working tool.
Sharp out of box. Handle fits well in the hand. Worked with one swipe on green brush up to 1" dia. Saw was adequate for frequent use. I compare this machete with my Fiskars hook bill and for the $20 it was worth it!

Solid choice for small jobs and infrequent use.
Decent value for the $. For heavy clearing jobs I'd spend more and buy a better tool.

The price is right but
Price is right but I wouldn’t buy it again. I wanted to use it to cut the occasional briar along a path. It doesn’t work very well.

Easy to handle
Great item for the 20 dollars paid. The size is just perfect for my 12 yr old twin boys to "adventure" with when we are camping leaving my full size machete alone for me to use. Sharp enough and so far materials and built seem durable.

It’s good
Great size for the youth who is stepping into the woods and for light yard work. Only wish the case was made better to be adjustable for different carry

Instantly grew more chest hair with this on my belt
As a suburban dad I have surprisingly little experience with a machete. For watching Indiana Jones and romancing the stone as a kid I figured I would have many more occasions to need a machete. It was not until I turned 45 that I purchased my first machete. This was the one I chose quality feels good long stocks of grass and bamboo shutter when they see me walk with this. I haven’t had a chance to visit the Florida Everglades and forge my own path however, I feel like I’ll be prepared when that time comes you too Can be prepared with purchase of the bear Grylls.

light comfortable
This is a great machete, cuts well if getting close to stem. Use tip, works best when cutting anywhere on branch

Solid heft
This is the ideal tool to cut down corn stalks after harvest. It remains sharp for long enough to clear a large number of stalks. Sharpening is simple and straight-forward. The sheath ensures that you don't cut yourself.

Sharpness may vary, case is a pain, but overall decent.
So mine definitely was not sharp. I mean, I wouldn’t put pressure on it and run it across my skin, but it’s not going to slice a tomato thinly either. I’m on the fence about this as it’s more of a blunt tool. I ordered it to remove grasses from around small trees and plants VS using a weed eater that might damage them. I found it wasn’t nearly sharp enough for this, however I could cut with a swift ninja motion stronger thicker grasses and thistles and the like. I think the sharpness might be right for its intended outdoors purpose. I find when I’m camping I have time to do things like sharpen a blade, but at the same time, if you shave bark with a razor edge, it doesn’t stay sharp for long. Having said all that, I have slow speed grinding stone and I spent an hour working the edge to something razor sharp. Put another way, a lawnmower blade is both sharp and dull at the same time, yet it cuts our grass. If you’ve ever put a razor edge on one of those, you know how useful it is - especially after the first accidental branch. Other reviews speak of it being sharp, so either they don’t understand what sharp is, or there is some quality control issues. I’m really not sure. I’m not yet sure how long it will keep its edge for As others have also mentioned, the saw teeth are sharp, and can cut through smaller and larger branches. I found once I got a few inches in, there was extra resistance from the regular blade. So for a 4” branch for instance I’d finish the cut from the other side. The sheath is a pain. Both on a belt and using it on its own. However, I think it does help to keep it safe and sharp. The button to clasp it in always seems to be in the way. I’m not disappointed in it in any way, however, if I was going to be dropped in the middle of the wilderness, I’d also want something better than this. It’s not really a sell out to his name, and I’m sure HE’D do fine with it, but also it’s not the best of the best. However, I doubt most of us are going to use it for anything more than a multi-day camping trip, or an oversized garden tool. Lastly, remember the only thing more dangerous than a sharp tool is a dull one.
