No it will not. This is a DWV (drain, waste, vent) coupling. It is pressure tested and certified to 4.3 pounds per square inch. The inside diameter is 1.94 inches, which fits the outside diameter of size 1-1/2 inch iron pipe or schedule 40 PVC pipe when the stainless steel worm gear clamps are tightened. Outer diameter of 1-1/2 inch ips (iron pipe size) pipe is standardized to 1.9 inches in diameter. Whether it is galvanized steel or PVC does not matter. Their outside diameters are the same.
