LAPCODS-18-M Heavy-Duty Welder's Shirts, 100% Cotton, 10 oz, 18 Medium, Denim

Very well made. I like the weight. I was thinking I needed a 17 1/2S but the 18M (18 Months, lol) was the only Prime option so I gave it a try. Perfect! I'm especially surprised that the sleeves are sized for a non-NBA player. I'm 5'9" and the Medium length is great. Might could wear a Short, but I'm happy. I love that the fit doesn't taper to much towards the bottom. Great for leaving untucked, like when you just need to wear it over another shirt briefly.

This is a nice heavy shirt with snaps, which is what is needed for welding (since sparks can burn up the thread on sewn-on buttons, as well as the plastic buttons themselves). They keep discontinuing the Carhartt weight denim shirt that we buy (for my husband who welds), first the specific size, then two different weights we had downgraded to, so we were happy to find a replacement.As for the other reviewer's complaint about not being flame resistant, I think they were confused by the company name being Lapco FR, but yet the description does not say that this shirt is FR. They do sell those, but they cost about 50% more, and the fine print on that technology says they can't be washed in hot if you want to keep the FR protection intact (which is not practical for a shirt that gets extremely dirty at work). The protection provided for welding by the heavy weight of 100% cotton is that sparks will bounce off, or if landing, will not burn through so fast that the alert welder doesn't have time to shake them off before they get through to the skin.Size-wise, I think that people are getting so used to the cheap clothing that has been down-sized. that full-sized clothing of high quality seems big. (There are size charts on the Lapco website - many brands no longer offer neck size in addition to S-M-L, etc.) These will shrink, and they will be stiff for several washes. That's normal for a shirt of this weight, but the alternative of a lighter weight or blend with synthetic would defeat the protective qualities.

First of all, this shirt is EXTREMELY well made. The stitching is perfect, the fabric is very heavy, and the color of the denim is beautiful. Since I bought it about a month ago I've literally worn it every single day. The only issue I have is that the chest and waist measurement are a bit large relative to the back and sleve measurements. At 6'0 and 185lbs, the 15x33 is just a bit narrow in the shoulders and short in the sleves (and I do mean very slightly), however the chest and waist measurements are perfect. If I were to size up to a 15 1/2 or 16, the shirt would probably look like it was too big for me. Other than that, I have absolutely no complaints.Side note - I have not washed this shirt yet so I can't comment on shrinkage. I will update my review once I do.
