Death to the Good Girl!!
I first heard about this book during an interview with Olivia Fox Cabane… This is a timeless book that addresses an epidemic of "nice girls" in modern society. As a recovering nice girl, I understand why I was seemingly "run over" by my colleagues in the past, took it personally and judged them for it. All of the advice she gives is completely applicable and valuable.Best snippets for me:- DON'T BE TOO HONEST (read book for clarification)- DO NOT ASK YOUR COWORKERS THEIR ADVICE as she states, and from my experience they discourage anything "outside the box"- AIM HIGHER THAN YOU THINK YOU CAN HANDLE hey, you'll figure it out.- PEOPLE WILL SOMETIMES NOT LIKE YOU take it as a complimentEven though a lot of the ideas seem crass, you will see all of these characteristics in successful women and men alike. Thanks Kate White!

Love the book
This book is about 17 years old now, but the concepts in it are great for working women who want to get ahead. I had this on my wish list for years and wish I bought when I first found out about it. Good girls should now go to the back of the class, because they are the ones who will not get ahead in life. I plan to read more books like this one!!! Oprah was right when she talked about the disease to please - good girls will not move up in a career. I give it very high reviews - a 4.5 out of 5.

Very Easy Quick Read- and Empowering!
The minute I picked this book up, I couldn't put it down. It's a very gripping book that catches your interest with the first sentence. In the past, I was definitely what White defines as a "good girl." I had thought that I was being a bit more "gutsy" before I read this book, but it was really inspiring to hear of stories that would push me further in my job. After reading this book, I definitely feel more inclined to take more risks in my career and not always have to worry what people think and if I am pleasing everyone.

Life changing!
This is such a fantastic book - its great for any working woman, whether your just starting your career (like me) or a long-time careerist (like my mom). We both found a lot of value in the advice given, definitely worth a read - especially if you're struggling with the classic "good girl" guilt!

Helpful
It's a simple book that helps being more assertive without getting agressive. It helps to sort of "go for it" without hesitation or fear. It's good read.
