Great energy boost for keto diet
Doing the keto diet has been great for my health, but my energy level took a big hit. Especially in the first 6-8 weeks. These shots are like a turbo boost for me. I used them primarily on bike rides and runs and I could feel the difference in my legs with one shot (1/2 the bottle) within about 5 minutes and it would last 40-50 minutes of hard riding. I'd often take the other half and have no problem completing a 2+ hour ride, even feeling more energy doing physical tasks around the house afterwards. YMMV. Being on the keto diet may make these more potent for me with my body having adapted (or at least adapting) to burning ketones, but just not that efficient at creating them (at least not yet).Note this was purely my subjective perception of the impact it had on my performance. I wasn't doing time-trials or anything to get any form of data (though that would be really interesting to do!).Probably not surprisingly, the longer I did keto, the better my body became at making my own ketones and keeping up with the demand during activity. So again while these definitely helped, the turbo-boost effect became less noticeable over time.I continued using them when I finished up with keto (though still eating lower carbs). I've been testing my blood ketones and am definitely out of ketosis (per published metrics, ketones < 0.5mmol/L) and I'm not sure how much difference adding ketone esters makes. I think it still helps a little, but I'm not racing or anything so the cost/benefit ratio is getting too high for me and I've stopped using it.For someone starting the keto diet, especially if you are very low carb and going after a therapeutic level of ketosis who wants to boost their energy for workouts (or just working), I highly recommend these. I was very happy with the results of doing keto and plan (at least for now) to do the diet at least once per year. So I plan to have these on hand next time to help me maintain my activity level through the early days (at least) of the diet.If you are racing/competing I suspect these can be useful (read up on the pros using it), so if you need that edge the cost/benefit ratio may be worth it to you. You probably should research how the body utilizes these, if you get the desired benefit on day-one or if you need to "train" your body over time to better utilize ketones. It's something that's on my to-do list, just haven't gotten to it yet.

The real deal
This is what you need on a keto diet to get into the therapeutic range on a blood meter. Ketone drinks get a bad rap because of people selling the BHB form that only causes you to secrete the byproduct in your urine so that it looks like your in ketosis on the urine stripe but if you in ketosis its not from the BHB form. This is only one of two brands that sell the real ketone esters that work that I know of and this brand is more affordable and just as effective
