A dream to clean
I love this water bottle. I just purchased it this month to upgrade from a 2017 S'well bottle. Since I bought the Owala bottle, I bring it with me everywhere. It fits perfectly in a cup holder, it doesn't leak in my work bag, is easy to carry by the handle, and it keeps water cold. I wasn't planning on writing a review for this bottle until I took it apart to clean it and was shocked at how easy it is to disassemble. Most water bottles are designed in a way where it's impossible to take the anti-leak plastic rings off or you need to stick a knife in the cap to get them out. Not this bottle; all of the pieces come right off to be cleaned. I also love the straw mouthpiece since I don't have to press it up to drink from it and the straw doesn't stick out of the bottle which is unhygienic. It's also a great mouthpiece for driving since I don't have to tilt my head back to drink water and have the bottle touch the ceiling. My only con for this bottle is that the outside is quite prone to scuffs. A magic eraser works really well (and maybe not buying the white exterior like I did) but I'm also not exceptionally careful with the bottle so some damage is to be expected. I have dropped it pretty hard and it hasn't dented so cosmetic issues aren't a huge deal breaker. I'm so glad I invested in this and would buy another one if I lost this one.

Harder to use than standard Owala
When Owala came out with this slimmer bottle, I was super excited because part of my challenge with the regular Owala is that it takes up a lot of room in the bag. I like that it’s a slimmer bottle and you can open the top like a regular Owala to pour in water and ice. This version however is a screw top and you need to line the cap to the bottle or it either won’t close. The way to know it’s closed is that it must click shut. The larger opening of the bottle is also generally harder to open and close, so after you’ve poured your water in, you need to make sure that it’s closed correctly. The design that makes it hard to screw shut means you shouldn’t be in a rush when opening and closing the bottle. It’s a 24oz which means that it is heavy when filled and I do worry for the thin strap on the top of the bottle to hold it. So if you’re used to swinging your Owala as you walk, you might feel the need to cradle this instead because the thin strap does not give the same assurance. I’ve also learnt that having it as a 24oz in a slimmer design is not the best idea on a study table because it can be prone to toppling because I may not pay as much attention grabbing for the bottle and the bottle having a smaller circumstance makes it easier to knock over. So while I like that it has the sturdiness and the Freesip features of an Owala, these limitations makes me think twice about replacing my standard Owala with it. I’ll bring it for workouts and perhaps hikes where I appreciate the cold water and both where I can stick it in my rucksack. I won’t be using it for school, library, work or driving.
