The dolphin lava lamp adds a relaxing and mesmerizing effect to my room. It's perfect for meditation or calming kids at night. The design is charming, and the light show it creates is unique every time I turn it on. The lamp works best when left on for a couple of hours initially.

Bought this lava lamp as I love the unique design. The lamp is very well packaged and easy to assemble. The instruction manual is there if you need any help.The lava effect is also very unique and relaxing, my kids love watching it with bulbs going up and down.The base makes the lamp very stable and safe.Highly recommend this lovely lava lamp.

Fun dolphin lava lamp. Great for any sea animal lover!!VERY slow to get up to heat and for the lava to bubble into action!

The media could not be loaded. The lava lamp takes a while to warm up, but is relaxing to watch once it has. The dolphin is made of rubber type material, and needed attaching to the glass container for the liquid. I got it as an addition for a sensory area at a children’s activity week, and think it will be very soothing.

Lava lamps have come on a lot since I last owned one. The last one I owned used a good old incandescent light bulb drawing 60w of power. This one uses a much smaller bulb drawing a much more wallet friendly 20w! The first time I switched it on, it did take a while for the wax to start moving, but since that initial first time use it has been considerably faster.The design of the lava lamp is different in that it has a little silicone dolphin shaped sleeve that goes over the bottle. Makes it stand out a lot more and honestly, I think it just looks nicer and more eye catching. It comes with two different coloured (porcelain?) balls that you can place upon the tip to make it look like the "dolphin" is doing a trick. It also comes with a spare bulb which is always a bonus!The only negative I've found so far is that I found it quite fiddly to fit the bulb! You need either small hands, a child or a bit of patience as fitting the bulb is a skill in itself. Apart from that though, I can't really fault this and think it's a cute little thing!

My daughter asked me to get this lava lamp for her. My partner found it relatively easy to assemble it and we liked that you got two different options for the colour ball on the top of the dolphin. Appearance wise it looks exactly like the advert.Main criticism is that it takes 5 hours to heat up initially and even after the 5 hours it was a little underwhelming. The second time round it was better but it still took around 3 hours before it behaved like a lava lamp. I don’t know if this is typical for lava lamps, but I tend to only put these type of things on in the evening when it gets dark so by the time it starts working my daughter will be going to bed! So I guess it depends what you are using it for as to whether you find this workable or not.

This lava lamp looks great and will suit anybody who loves dolphins well. It does get hot though and in my opinion is too expensive at £38.
