Good security for expensive equipment
My friend recently had one of his big JD Z950 mowers stolen from a job, and it got me worried about my Kubota zero turn. I hid this switch down in it as a starter disconnect, so some criminal with a Kubota key couldn't just drive off with it. Now it won't start for anybody but me. The switch looks good, and it works fine for my nonstandard purpose. It's a good price too.I like it!

fixes my problem finally
So we got this one suv that for the life of me i can not seem to trace down a parasitic draw that over night drains battery to point it will not even crank, so decided rather than popping hood and removing terminal like previous owner did every single time i am away from vehicle more than couple mins, I would install some type of disconnect so that's were we are after adding 2 3 ft lines I mounted this under dash inside and it works great, as a bonus it also acts as a bit of a safety switch to help keep unwanted people from driving off with my suv.

Simple, heavy duty disconnect.
I installed this on a tractor that has random discharge issues. Beyond solving issue, this adds a level of security and safety since I mounted the switch where it's not easily visible.

Nice heavy duty switch
Nice, heavy duty switch with positive stops at on and off positions. You can lock it to help act as a theft deterrent on your equipment. I see one reviewer posted the switch installed upside down, but it should be installed with the lock hole at the top so you can easily lock it OFF or ON (through the predrilled hole in switch handle) with a padlock. A bit bigger than I realized so will need to modify my installation, but really needs to be this big to handle heavy load.

Not what I was hoping for
There is a lot to like about this switch. It has a very good and pronounced engage/disengage feel to it. The switch itself seems heavy duty. And it is easy enough to operate without feeling like a slight bump would change its state. There are also things I am not so happy about. I am not pleased with is the handle itself. It would not take much of a blow or pry to break the lock right out of it. A medium sized screw driver would probably accomplish this with little effort. The handle appears to be very thin cast Aluminum.Lastly, the hole in the mounting plate and the hole in the handle do not align. I know it is difficult to see in the picture that I have everything in place as it should be. But, the plate is flat against the body of the switch and the handle is fully seated on the post. You can see how far off this is. I can probably take a hammer to the plate and bend it so it will align, but that should have been checked before it left the factory. It does not give me much confidence in the rest of the manufacturing processes or quality control. So it depends on what you intend to do with this. Using a lock on this is more of a plea to someone than a deterrent. I would almost recommend that you not lock it at all. Just put a pin through the hole. If someone is determined to turn the power on, at least they won't destroy the handle doing so.If you do not need to lock the switch, then this may work for you. I am not entirely sure if this is something I will use. But it will not work for me the way I hoped it would.

Heavy duty and very well made.
The media could not be loaded. I’m going to use this for my camper to avoid battery drain when not plugged into shore power.Too many times I’ve had to let it sit on battery power and come back to find the battery is dead, even though I thought I had everything turned off. After investigating I found a couple items that were using battery power and could not be shut off. I will be installing this as soon as the weather allows. This is very heavy duty and well made. I was originally worried the contacts, when switching ON/OFF, would be too weak to provide a solid, reliable connection. To check this out I put this in my vice and was pleasantly surprised at how “solid and firm” the switching between ON/OFF was. It takes a little effort and you can feel, as well as hear, how solid it “snaps” into place. (Video, but pay attention to the AUDIO of the “snap”.)You will notice the handle appears to have some movement, that is because I did not insert the drive pin to hold it firmly in place and won’t until I mount it permanently. (A spare pin is included since these can be hard to find if dropped.)

made to last
Here is a well built kill switch for any 12v-48v circuit. Primarily made of aluminum alloy and bakelite, with copper and brass for the conductors, it is going to withstand the most demanding environments any vehicle will be exposed to. The switch comes with a metal mounting bracket which also has provisions to add your own lock, securing it in the off position.TLDROld school design and materials, built to last, affordable price. Recommend purchasing and use.
