There is a customer question and response for this item where the description of the product is inaccurate. The photo mat is 5x7" with an opening for a 4x6 photo. It will be too big for a 3.5x5 photo.

These are nice! They make my pictures look really good. No complaints from me! They made it easier to frame older smaller photos.
