Works great, no zoom, great value.
I looked for a flashlight for my D cell, rechargeable Nimh batteries. These batteries are excellent, have about 10000-12000 mAh each. THAT'S A LOT OF POWER.Hard to charge them.Use this charger, and only two at a time:SkyRC MC3000 Multi-Chemistry ChargerThat said, for the price, this is perfect for my needs. Very bright, on/off switch, and no zoom.I have had very good luck with D cell Nimh batteries. All have charged over 11000, and no bad ones, a rarity in this world.Tenergy batteries, expensive, but they work VERY well.

Not great.
1.5 months of barely any use and it started flickering. We're a little over 2 months now and it will only turn on if it's pointed at the ceiling, which is not the most useful of things. It seemed well put-together, but that apparently is not the case. Was hoping for a more budget friendly alternative to a Mag Lite, but if I have to buy a new one every 2 months, that's no savings at all. I'd recommend you look elsewhere for your flashlight needs. Heck, even those couple of dollar plastic ones last longer than this thing did.

A good looking and heavy duty flashlight but,,,
Dropped once in the grass and it went out and would not work again. for looking so tough it does not play the part. Maybe I got a bad one ?

Please read
Doesn't have a tight beam for distance, but lights up a room quite bright. Dropped it and must have compressed the battery spring or some other component, so the batteries are now loose inside. Doesn't work when pointing down, but works pointing up. Liked the flashlight so rolled up some aluminum foil into a ball slightly smaller than the width of the battery and dropped it in first. Now works perfectly.
