So, I love this light for some very specific reasons: 1) the build quality seems very good - aluminum body and bracket; 2) big enough to give out enough lumens and multi-mode lighting; 3) rechargeable battery; 4) most importantly - which is why I bought it - I wanted something that I could semi-permanently screw/mount to my bike rack so I didn't have to worry about losing it, having to take it on/off and it would be there whenever I needed it. I was about to purchase the Blue Lug KOMA from another online retailer (I had waited 3 months for it to come back in stock) but it is smaller, less bright, less lighting modes and a lot more money - $50 with shipping! After looking around I found this light and thought - hoped - that I could retro fit it to bolt to my rack and it worked great. I had to remove the mounting braket with two tiny screws....BUT that wasn't easy - they are small, easy to strip, and they were probably lock-tited on there....but I got them out and the bracket off. If I hadn't been able to get them out, I would have just had to use it like any other strap-mounted light - which would have been fine, but not why I chose this particular light. Then all I had to do was to drill a small hole through the aluminum mounting base, and attach it to the rack - which is why I bought this light - the METAL base - so I could drill through it and not deal with any plastic crap mounted light. Did it void any warranty? Probably yup. Do I care? Nope - it is mounted exactly where I want and how I needed it, at a fraction of the cost of the KOMA. I will probably buy one or two more to put on my other bikes. I can't speak to the long-term durability, battery life or anything else (other people have already reviewed that), but for the price and my specific needs, this is a 6-star buy. Very solid, bright, lightweight, rechargeable with decent battery life and an excellent mounting system. Love it!

So nice to not have to think about this light. Braking is automatic and nice for group rides. Not easy to steal. I wish all my lights were like this with motion activation.

Update: Do not use the auto on/off feature it is unsafe. I used it in the early evening and it sensed enough light to shut off the light. This means the light could be disabled at dusk or dawn when you think it is on which is obviously dangerous. So you cannot use the first 2 modes since they have auto on/off. The light could also be on during part of your ride and off during the other part depending on the level of ambient light it senses. I also noticed after a few months that the two bracket screws loosened a little so make sure to check on those or use some light loctite. Note on battery life: if you use the highest brightness and solid mode you will get much lower run time, I only got about 8-10 hours. Fast blink is good though around 25 hours. ----- Initial impressions: light has good brightness at night almost blinding up close, but only just adequate for daytime visibility. Annoying restrictions limit how you use the modes. For example, slow blink and breathing mode must use auto on/off and the light gets disabled during the daytime. Fast blink and solid mode cannot use auto on/off but do not turn off during the daytime. I only use fast blink or solid mode which do not use auto on/off and stay on day or night. All modes still allow the light to brighten while braking and it's sensitive and actually works very well. Just touching the brakes slightly will brighten the light quickly, it almost feels like the brake lights on a car. However, it is frustrating that the light can only get very bright like this momentarily when braking. The brightness while braking would be perfect if it was allowed as the highest brightness but that is not possible. --- The auto on/off is too fast and shuts off after about 20 seconds of no movement. This could be bad at night if your light is constantly turning off when waiting at a standstill for longer than 20 seconds. Also you have to trust that the auto on feature is working properly otherwise the light might be off when you are riding. note: the instructions are unclear and don't explain that you can change the three brightness levels by holding the button while in solid light mode. The only setting I found useful was the highest and the other two settings are too dim. ---- These are just the issues I noticed but otherwise it is built quite well and appears solidly attached to the metal seatrail mount. If you don't mind being limited to just the fast blink and solid modes so that the light can be on at all times then it is a great rear light. One tip for mounting to the seatrail, you can mount the seatrail hanger on top or below the seatrail. This will adjust how high or low the light sits beneath your seat by about an inch or so. Mounting the light higher tucks it in better but it is slightly less visible than mounting it lower.

I have 2 of these lights and I am very pleased with both of them. They are well made out of aluminum, the finish is flawless, the light is bright and visible in daylight, The motion sensor brake light is amazing, the battery lasts along time ( I charge it once a month) and the mounting hardware is easy to attach and it is secure.

Apr 14, 2022: I like the build quality (metal) of the light. I charged it for about an hour before putting it on the bike. The main body of the light is threaded and screws into the socket of your choice. It has an o-ring which should keep water from getting to the USB connection inside while it is in its socket. I installed the seat-mount bracket in about 5 minutes. An allen wrench is included. When attaching the bracket under the seat, I didn't remove the bracket arms. I only loosened the bracket arms an equal amount on both sides until they fit, then tightened them. Though I didn't use the post-mount bracket, it seems reasonably durable, and I might adapt it for alternate placement while using the rack on the back of my bike. I'm adding photos that show details I would have found useful, including the English portion of the instruction manual. To adjust the brightness: from OFF, press 4 times to get to CONSTANT (no flash) mode. While in that mode, press and hold the power button. While holding it, the brightness level will cycle between LOW, MEDIUM & HIGH brightness. I'll include photos of the three levels. It can be done in the other modes, but it's easier to see the change in CONSTANT MODE. Edit: the photos don't appear in the order I put them which would have shown the three brightness levels side-by-side. June 18, 2022: In response to a question about a clip-on option, I'm adding a few more photos. The post-mount base can be removed from the silicone/rubber strap and used as a clip. Apr 10, 2023: Purchased 1 year ago and still working well; a very good buy. Jul 23, 2023: Add photos of light mounted on cargo bag.

Product works well, has good battery life and functions well. Happy with my purchase and would buy again. Safety on the roads is a layered and multilevel for me and my braking rear light has improved my visibility on the road.
