A Natural, Finely Ground Fiber Staple
This is a good product that delivers on its promise of being 100% organic and natural. The powder is finely ground, which makes it much easier to mix into liquids or recipes compared to coarser husks. It is a highly effective "natural and good" way to support digestive health and satiety, especially for those following strict dietary protocols.Taste and Palatability: "Doesn't Have Taste"One of the defining characteristics of this product is that it doesn't have taste. While this is great for versatility, it can be a challenge for some users. Because it is completely plain, the experience of drinking it with just water can be quite bland.Recommendation for BeginnersIf you are new to psyllium husk, you might not like it in its plain form. For those who really want to try fiber supplements but are sensitive to taste or texture, I would suggest looking into flavored ones instead. However, if you prefer to keep things natural and avoid artificial sweeteners, this unflavored version is the way to goโyou just have to be prepared for the neutral profile.Pro-Tip for UseTo make the unflavored powder more enjoyable, try mixing it into a smoothie, juice, or protein shake. Because it absorbs water quickly and can thicken, itโs best to drink it immediately after mixing to ensure a smooth consistency.Final VerdictOverall, this is a top-tier, natural fiber supplement. It is worth the money for its purity and effectiveness. While the lack of flavor might be a hurdle for some, its high quality and versatility in recipes make it a staple for anyone focused on organic health supplements.

Game changer
I canโt say enough good things about Viva Naturals Organic Psyllium Husk Powder! ๐๐๐๐๐I started adding this to my dog's food to help with his gastrointestinal issues, and the results have been amazing. The organic quality gives me peace of mind, knowing I'm giving him a natural supplement. It mixes easily with his food, and he seems to enjoy the taste, which is a huge relief.Since incorporating this powder into his diet, I've noticed a significant improvement in his digestion. Heโs more regular, and it seems to have alleviated his discomfort. Plus, the 24 oz package is a great value and lasts quite a while. The powder is fine and easy to measure, making it convenient to use. Overall, I highly recommend Viva Naturals Organic Psyllium Husk Powder for any pet owner looking to support their dog's digestive health. Itโs been a game changer for us!

Satisfied.
I was skeptical, as usual, in trying a new brand (of anything). This was less expensive than what i was normally getting at the grocery store, but after i looked at the ingredients of the fiber supplement i had in my cabinet & saw that it had aspartame in it, i started looking for something else. I used to take this supplement when i wasn't getting enough fiber in my food, but then i tried a different diet type & decided to stop for a while. A long while later, & now with personal reference points, i decided to go back to taking the daily recommended amount of fiber & carbs. I wasn't getting them through diet alone at the moment, & i remembered i had the metamucil in my cabinet still.I started taking it for a few weeks, & getting my intestines used to it, & decided to go back over the ingredients. I thought i had done a decent job before, but apparently i missed that the metamucil had aspartame in it (which I've read bad things about), so i decided to search for an alternative. This product was highly recommended by Amazon (Amazon choice, great reviews, etc), so i decided to try it.This honestly tastes like i expect dirt to taste, which sounds bad, but honestly it's really easy to drink as long as you dissolve it completely. The orange flavor style of metamucil that i had in my cabinet for a while would completely dissolve with a slow stir in room temperature tap water. This, i have to stir really fast, & for a longeramount of time, for it to completely dissolve. That's not a huge deal for me, personally, though. It definitely does what it's intended to do, it has no added filler that's horrible for me, & is quite a bit less expensive than alternatives that I've tried. If mixed with smoothies or anything in a blender, it's basically unnoticeable. I prefer just to stir in tap water & down it with my meals, because it's much quicker, & there's basically no cleanup required. If you want a less expensive fiber supplement that works like it's supposed to, that doesn't have lots of unnecessary added filler (much of which isn't good for us, when you research those ingredients), this is perfect, IMO. It can be tasteless if added to any other food & blended, but it also works well just mixed with tap water (as long as you stir quickly & make sure it's completely dissolved).

Works well and easy to take.
This is good stuff. As much as I have no real health or digestion issues, I had been reading about the health benefits of taking psyllium as a supplement and thought I would give it a try. I started small, as they suggest, mixing just one teaspoon a day into a drink. I stir It up good and drink it right away. I have actually noticed a positive difference in regularity. I've experienced no noticeable negative side effects. If I have one complaint about this particular psyllium, it is that it doesn't stir into a liquid very well. It tends to clump and stick to the sides of the glass quite a bit. I guess that may be a problem with any powder, but it seems pretty prevalent in this one.All in all, though, a good product at a good price!

CONCENTRATED MIX IT PROPERLY
Those who say it clumped, mixed it all wrong. It's very fine, which makes it more economical because you get more product rather than fillers that make it easier to mix in tap water.I needed to lower my cholesterol a lot. I experimented with this until it was easier to mix. It takes barely a teaspoon in at least 8 oz of very hot water while beating it fast. I use a tiny whisk. The consistency is similar to light syrup. I've added this to my soups without any taste of the product, just thickening. Of course you will use more for larger amounts of liquid. For cold drinks, I add a teaspoon to very hot water, only 4 oz and beat fast, then add my orange juice concentrate, mix fast and add cold water to taste. I don't gulp it down. The juice mix is like a smoothie and I sip it like a smoothie. All you have to do is find foods you like and mix small amounts at a time. Remember it's highly concentrated! I mixed less than a teaspoon in a mug of my favorite chicken broth, BETTER THAN BOUILLON, and it thickens almost like a gumbo. I like the thicker consistency for hot soups. The taste can be masked with spices or sweeting or flavor additives. It's not an awful taste, just not yummy. Results of using this has meant getting "cleaned out" incredibly well!I like this product very much. It will last a long time and I'll continue to play with it because my health depends on lowering this chlosterol as much as possible.I'm hopeful and happy to work with this wonderful product.I hope others will be patient and work with it the way it will work well for you.

So glad I found this!
This is an amazing product. I noticed how effective it was after only taking it for two days. It may not dissolve very well and yeah it clumps but I just pour it in with some orange juice and mix it with a spoon and drink immediately. It has no taste and the clumping doesn't bother me. Honestly the fact that its so effective makes up for the clumping. I haven't tried mixing it in with a smoothie but I think that would help dissolve it better. No negative side effects, easy to use, effective. I'm so glad I found this product.

not a replacement for Metamucil
maybe 1 star is harsh bc my use case for this wasn't a good one, but I followed the instructions on the bag. this is NOT a replacement for Metamucil.I have been taking Metamucil for some time, and I decided to try this out as an alternative because I didn't want the sugar or fake sugar of Metamucil. I figured it would probably taste nasty (it does), but I chug my Metamucil down quickly, so the flavor is not a huge factor for me. The problem is the consistency & utter inability to dissolve in water. I tried mixing it with water, but it immediately clumps up as soon as it touch the water. I also tried mixing a smaller amount of water at first, then adding more, but this was even worse; instead I had even larger clumps. chugging the clumps down is really gross. I imagine it's the same feeling as chugging curdled milk. and, the bitter flavor doesn't help.maybe, there are good use cases for this. maybe, it works well if you add it to your oatmeal or baked goods as shown on the page. maybe it works well in hot drinks. but, I can 100% confirm that you should NOT use this if you intend on mixing it with cold or room temperature water (which the bag and info on the page says you can).

Takes some getting used to
I bought Viva Naturals Organic Psyllium Husk Powder because I'm out of unsweetened, unflavored Metamucil and need some psyllium husk powder for regularity. I am an average American, not a person concerned about organic this or nature that; this purchase was made for convenience and price point. This product is NOT like Metamucil. It's far more finely milled, so it's basically like a reasonably fine powder, whereas Metamucil is more a coarse powder. It's in an obnoxious zipper bag which will not rezip due to too much powder being caught in the zipper tracks, so you have to be sure to store it away from any sources of humidity, meaning the kitchen, near bathrooms, etc. It also does not travel through a funnel very easily, so it was hard to transfer it into a better container. The way I use it is to pre-measure a cup of water, add a little flavoring, and then put a heaping teaspoon of it in the cup. I stir it very briskly for a good while and then I drink it very quickly. It takes more stirring than Metamucil and it clumps A LOT more than Metamucil. I think I would need a blender to get the clumps out, but fortunately they're fairly small. If you drink this immediately after stirring, it doesn't have time to set. However, because it is a fine powder and it does clump, I end up with micro-clumps of it left over in my mouth in the cracks between my teeth. This stuff tastes like raw wheat without the slightly sweet flavor wheat can have, which makes it fairly unpalatable to American tastes. I would not try this stuff without flavoring until I'd gotten used to the texture. It is not a joy to consume this, but it is over pretty quickly and only leaves a mild aftertaste after you wash your mouth out post-drinking it. And it does work, which is the point of taking it in the first place. However, you want to brush your teeth before bedtime if you use this stuff or you will hate life in the morning.Basically, this product is not a delight and the packaging needs some rethinking, but if your goal is to be regular, it does the job. The benefits barely outweigh the concerns.
