I have a door that doesn't want to stay open. When I run my roomba it pushed the old door stop out of the way and would end up stuck in the room. I found this while searching for door stops, and installed it this morning.The magnet doesn't seem as strong as I was expecting, but it does the job! I ran the roomba and this stop kept the door open and in place! I had to position it a little low since the gap is wider than I had thought. I even measured it, but it wasn't picking up the lever on the floor plate until I moved the door plate down. You can't really tell that it's low, but I'll give an update if it starts to be an issue--I used the adhesive and screws for extra stability. I knew the gap was wider than usual, but I wanted a flat floor plate, not the tall ones that could get in the way of cleaning effectively.

I purchased these for doors in my cabin that were not set square and will not stay open. They are set in very awkward places, and I needed something that I could mount to the floor that did not stick up. The floor mount base worked out great and the magnetic contacts work fantastic- they hold the door well, but also release with ease. Really happy with the results.They come with double back tape for mounting if you don't want to put them on with the supplied screws, but I found the adhesive was not reliable. Screwing these down is the only descent option.

The reviews complaining about the set screw being hidden, and the ones about adhesionto the floor are to be ignored. Of course you need to screw the one piece to the door. The floor peice does not get pulled up in use so a little adhesive is plenty. And of course its better if the set screw is hidden. In the remote chance you need to adjust it, it should be a one time thing. I was tempted to put 5 stars because there is nothing wrong with it, but i would like to see the next generation with a bumper so it doesn't clack as loud when it engages, or if wind hits it while locked.The perfect solution to the problem, and aSolid product.

Installed quickly ans easily. I screwed it into the door but used the adhesive on the ground. Will drill and screw into the tile. Works perfectly.

These are working well for us. The double sided tape is holding well on the tile floor. The tape only held for a few days on the heavy part on the door. Those few days were enough to confirm the device placement and function, so we screwed the unit to the door. We were delighted to find that even when they are not attached to the base, our hollow core doors now seem to wander less, perhaps due to the extra weight of this device at the bottom edge.Update: After 14 months, the adhesive on the base continues to hold securely to our tile floors and both our door stops are working perfectly.

You can only use this door stop if your door is no more than 1/2" from the floor. The magnet is not strong enough to hold the door if you adjust higher than this. I would have returned it, but I had already put the adhesive pads for mounting. Nice concept though just not strong enough.

Great little door stop. But we found that the adhesive pad for sticking the stop to the door did not adhere well to the back surface of the stop. Fell off every every 2-3 days until we decided to screw it to the door. j
