What I like: * The screen is great. It's bright, it's vivid. It doesn't have the highest resolution or anything but it's not necessary. It's not too big and doesn't cause any obstructions to my view while driving. * Set up is a doddle. I'm using this for Android Auto so I can't talk about carplay. But set up took a couple of minutes to connect to the Bluetooth on phone and change a few settings. * The stand that attaches to the windscreen is decent. It's strong, holds on well and has plenty of asjustability. I will say that the reach from windscreen isn't the longest, so if you have a deep dashboard you might struggle here. * The device connects to my phones Bluetooth but allows the phone connect to my car's Bluetooth still. This means audio out is via Bluetooth to the car, I can make phone calls using my car's Bluetooth and despite what I had read, I can use the steering wheel controls to adjust volume, pause and fast forward/rewind as needed. * Start up is quick. It connects to my phone and Android Auto appears in less than a minute. It's usually a few seconds longer than I would usually connect to the car's Bluetooth directly. * Device is easy to use, and I now have Android Auto in my old 2013 car which previously just had regular Bluetooth connectivity. I was worried about getting such a device and whether it would be a bit janky, but it's all good. * The price isn't terrible. There's loads of screens that all look similar, I took a punt on this one because I have seen this brand name crop up and the reviews generally have been good. You could pay less and possibly get as good a device. You equally could pay a lot more from what I've seen. What I don't like: * The charger is not usb, and while the cord to the 12v charger is plenty long, it doesn't have any additional USB charging on it like other units do. This means I need a separate plug/connector for charging my phone. * The included 3.5mm auxiliary cable is quite short. Depending on where your aux jack is, you might struggle to reach it. I'm not using this now, so not really an issue for me. * The included CD mounting attachment is garbage, when I tested the screen using this it bounced like mad while driving and the holder fell out shortly afterwards. If you're expecting to use this, don't. What I didn't use, so can't comment on: * I use android, so have no idea what the carplay is like. * I was able to connect the screen through my phone to the car's Bluetooth, and it worked with steering wheel controls, so I didn't use the included steering wheel remote, other than verifying it worked (it does). If you have basic car then it would likely be handy to have. * I didn't use the fm transmitter functionality either, but I assume this works fine too.

This really is plug and play. Turn your engine on and the unit comes to life - then simply connect it to the Bluetooth on your phone and then off you go! I love the way Maps (Google) comes on automatically, which is the only thing I usually ever use when driving. But this Carpuride popped up with some podcast recommendations, so I pressed play and now I can listen to some decent verbal audio whilst driving, instead of my crappy car radio losing signal and cutting out. There are many other settings / functions on the carplay unit, it will read out loud messages received on WhatsApp so you keep your eyes on the road. There is an additional control unit to strap to your steering wheel - it looks a bit like a watch and can control volume, forward / reverse track and also allow you to have a hands free phone call. Again, it works seamlessly. There are a few things that I'm unsure as to why they've been included - for instance video media such as Plex (which I've used for years, I love Plex for watching movies etc). Fair enough if the unit was rechargeable and was being used in a campervan setting as a media player, but unfortunately the unit can only be powered by a standard 12v cigarette lighter socket. The sound from the Carpuride unit is decent enough for podcasts. The display screen is clear and of good quality, with anti-glare, and is large enough to follow Maps with ease. The touchscreen display is perfectly responsive., Apart from the fact that it needs to be powered from a cigarette lighter socket, my only other grips so far is when Maps is on, a large portion of the screen is taken up by the 'search' box. I'm sure I'll get used to this when I'm driving longer distances. For the money it's well worth a punt. I'm seriously impressed with it.

Having had to sell my fantastic V90 with full 'ipad' style infotainment /android auto etc. I was desperate to find a suitable replacement for my somewhat older Volvo C70 Convertible 2013. I was amazed at how many offerings there were all with 5 star reviews...however, having tried a number in the £70-£90 range - none would connect seamlessly to both phone and the cars audio...until now... Whilst it cost me £100. This unit had a fantastic build quality, much better software and proper English instructions (almost). Android Auto Connection was simple as follows.. 1) Fit unit wherever you prefer (mine is on dash in same location as unused GPS screen) . 2) plug in power and switch on car. Screen fires up. 3) connect phone to car BT NOT unit 4) set android auto on your phone to connect wireless by BT and connect to unit... AA fires up and connects 5. Exit AA and select Audio symbol. Set this to BT out And it works! Power up car and after a short pause AA pops up with no cable needed and all sound routed through the car speakers! Happy days....now just need to have a go at the reversing camera!

Tricky to set up - prefers cabled audio output. Because (additional) reversing camera connects to the only available USB port on the device, using a USB cable to smartphone is not possible.

It's ok, nice clear screen and it's responsive as well. Only problem is with iPhone Carplay callers can't hear me. Annoying that I can't find any support to fix this, so I don't know if it's a problem with the unit or not. Otherwise it's a good little device but should be some clearer troubleshooting tips.

Updated 12/25 The build quality seemed good at the outset and I liked the steering wheel function......there were a few niggles from the onset, connecting to the vehicle with Bluetooth resulted in such a low volume that it was inaudible, so unfortunatly I had to connect via an FM channel and this means on startup there is a very loud hiss of static for a few seconds before it connects and it is frequently interrupted by external transmissions! It also never went into dark mode at night regardless of the settings on the phone! This I found really annoying at night. 6 months down the line it has started to randomly shut down and restart mid navigation. It may do this 3 or 4 times in a period of 10 minutes.... Not ideal when you are trying to navigate anywhere. Essentially then, not much going for it! Update 12/25 After eventually contacting Carpuride regarding the problems they resolved it with a software update that they shipped on a USB stick from mainland Europe. Super helpful and impressive customer service. All problems now resolved. Thank-you

We tried 4 different models/manufacturers and the Carpuride is the best of all. Although the android auto and carplay software appear to be the same, the Carpuride components must be of higher quality. They offer several mounting options and the FM-tuning sound quality is as good as the Bluetooth quality.

Love it but the remote never works

My daughter loves driving her 2004 Chevy Colorado. She used to just use her iPhone 13 mounted in front of the dash for navigation and streaming music, so I decided to get her this, so she could have a bigger display that could be used with Carplay (and hopefully make it less likely to be fiddling with her phone and trying to look at its smaller screen for driving directions). The worst part about this screen is that none of the brackets for the mount didn't really work for her truck. We ended up getting a third-party CD slot mount that worked much better (i.e., more stable) than the one that came with this. Aside from that one issue, everything else has been great, making this a really good value at the $110 cost at time of order. Setup went pretty quickly, taking about 5 few minutes to connect the iPhone 13 wirelessly to this screen. The iPhone 13 connects to a bluetooth FM transmitter in the truck, allowing the audio output of this screen to go through the truck's speakers. Best of all, it has been problem-free with almost daily use, connecting within 10-15 seconds without fail (so far) after 3-1/2 months. A nice bonus for a parent like me is the included steering wheel control that we were able to fit easily and securely onto the truck's OEM steering wheel; with this, she has basic phone and media controls available to her without taking her hand off the wheel. I was considering giving this only 4 or 4.5 stars because of those brackets. However, that could have just been specific to us considering we have a pretty old vehicle. Besides, everything else about this screen has been so great for us, that I would feel bad not giving it all 5 stars.

Way overpriced. Lag in controls, no backup camera, and major issues with connecting it consistently. Take $100 off the price tag and even then it is just an okay buy. The sound is okay, but it isn't any better than models costing less than half this price. Very disappointed and I realize you don't always get what you pay for.
