Measure twice, fit once
Great value and no complaints so far. Well-made and solid, can't comment on actual crash protection but they feel like they'd save a lot of skin. Waterproof against splashes and steady rain, but I've not been out in torrential rain yet. Zip-out liner that washes well. Pockets are small - you won't get much more than keys and a lighter in there. Snug at the waist and baggier at the knee. The ankles zip open and there's a velcro patch to tighten them around your boots.A note on sizing: don't go with your jeans size - actually measure your waist. These are high-waisted and a lot of us gents wear jeans under the belly. I took advice and measured for actual size and they fit well. Very tight fit over a pair of skinny jeans with the liner in, so if you plan to wear them over jeans you probably want a size up. There is a bit of adjustment (strap and buckle on each side of the fly) but the basic sizing is pretty accurate.

Breaking them in
I am new to biking so spent a lot of time looking in shops, talking to friends and looking online. I thought these looked good and the price was right. But bear in mind I haven't got anything to compare them against. They arrived quickly but were too tight so ordered the next size up. I had to pay to return the trousers which does detract from the customer experience. I understand the reason why (which is to keep initial costs competitive) but that does get blown out of the water when the buyer, me, needs to fork out on something I have already purchased. I'm sure an extra quid on each article of clothing would be enough insurance to cover costs on return and would enhance the company reputation by offering free returns. Anyway, that's for the company to decide whether they want to improve their reputation against the competition.AnywayThe next pair were sent through quickly. They are a good fit and the padding is large. I've worn them an increasing amount both with the liner and without. They're warm, windproof, moderately waterproof and remain comfortable on longer rides. Actually, they have become more comfortable as I've broken them in.I do recommend them but suggest you pay particular attention to the sizing and go at least one size up.

GOOD PANTS, as always buy over size not under.
Very good pair ob black cordura armoured pants. Wife and me sort of similar sizing but not shape, not an uncommon thing in oversize biker clothing. Basically i ordered w40 inside leg 34 inches, and the adjuster buckle both sides of waist works for us.I probably would like some thin armour at least on the bum, but imho the trick for sizing is easier to do with stated man sizes, i order two inches extra on leg length because the things are worn let's face it, sitting down mostly, this is a good buying tip. Also anyone who had a spill wiil tell you, everything wrinkles up, you want spare. The waist, order in these two inches bigger than your trouser size normally, with the adjuster straps this sees you right. Remember you are sat down a lot, again your girth is best bigger than smaller. Not fashion pants, safe, comfy pants! These have foldover flap on the fly zip, and two decent poppers on the waist, and the very good buckle adjuster each side, plus the armour and a rear zip at the waist to zip it to your jacket piece.Wife did her inaugural run with these, not fashion but comfy, and very good quality for price. Bang-on for us both, ps we are six foot 190lbs for me, and five foot 10 inch and (cough) about the same weight for the mrs. These fit, in the biking sense, i could not make head nor tale of woman sizes eg on jackets xl is tiny for us!

Best trousers I have had.
Very impressed, I ride everywhere i all year round and on returning to work after the festive break I found the trousers to fit well, be comfortable and vert toasty. So I was happy with them, then on Friday I ran into rain, not gentle drizzle, but full on monsoon conditions, it was coming in through the vents in my helmet, my feet were swimming in my boots which were letting water in faster than out and my gloves were so bad I bought a new pair as once off (in the bike shop buying a new bulb) they turned inside out and even after prodding with a pencil and wringing them out I couldn't get back on. You get the picture, through all off this i managed to avoid getting the dreaded trickle of cold water in my gentlemen's vegetables, which is possibly one of the most uncomfortable sensations ever experienced. So apart from being warm and waterproof, they have a large amount of padding, knees and hips, the knee pads are very good as they are split so your leg bends better. Very good trousers.

There not waterproof!
I'm new to biking and was looking for some trousers to keep me warm and dry! The item got to me very quickly, I was very happy with the fit, wasn't 100% sure about the big pockets on the front if the legs but they are very handy I was also happy with the armour protection and the warmth they gave and basically was very happy with this buy until I had to ride home in the rain.......my legs got soaked! My top half was dry as my waterproof jacket is waterproof! But not sure how they can say theses are waterproof!

TMW armoured waterproof bike trousers 34/34
Good quality bike trousers, well worth the price.Am a 34 inside leg-perfect length, I wear trousers over my boots as opposed to tucked in.Withstood an exceptionally heavy downpour on M1 for near on 2hrs in december.Nice high waistband, keeps drafts out.unzipped the thermal liner as warm enough with out.perfect for autumn/winter riding.
