Q: what does this smell like?

It's a nice smell, mildly sweet/citrusy, pleasantly fragrant. I love this product and you cannot smell it in your hair!

Q: Does it weigh down fine hair?

No it does not. I have short fine hair. I use about the size of a pea. Been using for years and love it.

Q: I used to buy the Scruples pomade in the light green "pump" which has been discontinued. Is this the same/similar product?

I don’t think it is the same product. It may be similar. I have used this for several years. I use a pea size of product for my short hair. Works very good not heavy on my fine hair.
