Excellent light
Simple setup and for my AOC monitor it works very well and has excellent stability. It’s so stable I placed my webcam on top of it . The automatic sense seems to work well and I find it responsive to my presence. Lots of brightness levels, and the color temperature adjustment is nice. I don’t use the automatic adjustment as I find the color temperature it chooses is too cool, almost blue. This is subjective so I don’t consider this a flaw of the item. There’s no remote however the controls are easily accessible, backlit, and visible. The stability is so good that it doesn’t move while making setting adjustments. I think it’s an excellent value for the price.

Outstanding in nearly every way. But here's a reason why you might not want to buy it...
My office isn't well-lit. For years, I've been using a desk lamp, which is essential for reading and writing, but my desk isn't huge and the lamp reduces the amount of useable workspace. Amazon somehow sensed my frustration and suggested this BenQ monitor light bar. The price ($120) seemed a bit high for what you get, but I figured I'm not just getting a light, I'm freeing up space which will really be useful almost every time I need to work at my desk. So I bit the bullet and ordered one. I've been using it for a month now, and I really love it. Setup was easy and fast. All the controls are on the top of the light bar and they're touch controls. It's easy to adjust the brightness and the color temperature (warm vs. cool light) to your exact liking. There is no learning curve, everything just works, you don't have to think about it or read a manual. It has a feature that turns the light on whenever it senses movement within a couple feet. Practically, it turns the light on when I sit down at my desk and turns it off about 10 or 15 minutes after I leave. I love that it's powered by USB-C, rather than batteries you have to replace when they wear out. Like many monitors, mine has extra USB-C ports for peripherals, but the ports also provide power to accessories like this light. Okay, so why should you consider NOT buying this? Simple: Amazon sells other monitor light bars that do almost everything this one does for half the price (or less). I decided to get a second monitor light bar for my office at work, and I was about to buy another one of these. But the Amazon algorithm showed me other monitor light bars that cost less, by a brand called Quntis. They make a variety, ranging from $40 to $70. I bought a 20" wide Quntis model for $55. For me, the Quntis has one disadvantage. Almost all of their models, including the one I bought, has a separate remote controller that's about the size and shape of a hockey puck. And it uses 3 AA batteries (included in the package, thankfully). I strongly prefer the all-in-one operation of the more expensive BenQ. My desk gets pretty cluttered, and things on my desk sometimes get misplaced. Without the Quntis remote, you simply cannot use the light bar. Also, the adjustments to brightness and color temperature have only four levels; with the BenQ, it's easy to dial in the exact brightness and temperature you want. Looking at the user reviews of the Quntis light bars, many people say they like the separate remote. You might, too. Hardly anyone complains about the lack of fine adjustments to brightness and color temperature that you get with the BenQ but not the Quntis. I really can't recommend spending $120 for the BenQ when for $55-ish you can get a Quntis that does practically everything the BenQ does, with very minor compromises that most people can life with. That said, I'm not sending my BenQ back to get a refund and buy another Quntis.

Perfect Fit for My Curved Monitor Setup
This light bar really exceeded my expectations. It fits seamlessly on my 34” curved Dell monitor, and the silver color blends in perfectly, sleek, clean, and not distracting at all. It’s also super lightweight, so it doesn’t feel bulky or awkward up top. What really impressed me is the mounting design. It uses these soft rubber “clamps” (for lack of a better word) that grip the monitor really well without damaging or scratching anything. It feels secure, even on a curved screen, and doesn’t budge once in place. I’m powering it straight through a USB-C port on my monitor, so no need for wall adapters or extra cables cluttering the desk. The lighting itself is excellent, fully adjustable brightness and color temp, with a nice downward angle that avoids glare completely. I was worried it might feel harsh or distracting, but it’s the exact opposite. Super comfortable, even after hours of use. Bonus features like the motion sensor and webcam mounting clip just round it out. Thoughtful details all around. If you’ve got a curved monitor and want a clean, functional lighting upgrade, this one nails it.

The monitor light bar I didn't know I needed until having it
Great lighting for desk area with auto-on and brightness features. While relatively expensive, the features and quality of lighting provided by this monitor light bar are top notch. Easy to mount and angle for lighting the workspace in front of me while avoiding glare on the monitor and my eyes. I didn't know how much I'd benefit from having a monitor light bar until getting this one and using it for the past couple of weeks... Now, I can't image my desk setup without it.

Absolutely fantastic, a must have for your setup
When I first looked at this screen bar, I wasn't to sure about it. I was used to having a wireless remote for my previous model, which allowed me to manually turn it on and off. The idea of a sensor that activates when I approached the computer and shuts off when I left made me uneasy. I was concerned about having to reach up to the top of my monitor to control it or adjust the settings. However, I can say that this screen bar is fantastic. The sensor activates the moment I sit down, and it stays on for a few seconds after I leave, making it incredibly convenient. This feature has proven to be great, allowing me to enjoy seamless operation without needing to touch anything manually. Plus, it frees up space on my desk since there's no remote to clutter my workspace. In as for as value, it outperforms my previous model in both functionality and design. It fits snugly on my monitor, unlike some other bars that tend to sit awkwardly. The installation process was straightforward, and overall, I have no complaints. If you're considering a screen bar, I highly recommend giving this one a try.

By Far The Best Monitor Light Bar I've Used
Pros: I tried 5 different monitor light bars before this one. I tried cheap ones and moderately priced ones. A couple were good, but I still felt like they were struggling to light up my desk fully. I finally caved and bought this one. Oh. My. Goodness. The difference is literally night and day. It is SO bright compared to the cheeper alternatives out there. I don't necessarily agree with the price, but the quality is surely far superior than the alternatives. I do like the motion sensor feature as well as the auto brightness. They work well and are useful! The motion sensor is especially nice during the day, but it's given me quite a shock during the middle of the night if I forget to turn it off Cons: My only real con with this has to do with the motion sensor and auto brightness. Like I said above, they work great. However, when you have both enabled, the light will turn on, turn off, and then turn on again. I reached out to BenQ support, and they informed me this is normal and that the light is determining the correct brightness. I don't have this issue if I one or the other of these features enabled, but I do have the problem when both are turned on together. It's not the end of the world, but it does get a bit annoying when it happens every time the light turns on via the motion sensor. I could just set the light to a specific brightness, but the auto brightness feature is also really nice to have enabled. I was hoping BenQ support would have a solution to this, but this is just, unfortunately, a characteristic of the product. Conclusion: Basically, I think it's a bit overpriced, but it absolutely is heads and shoulders above every other light I tried. At the end of the day, I'd rather just buy a superior product and pay a little more for it. I just wish it wasn't *that* much more.

Even better than the previous models
I also own the Halo version of this light that I use in my office, which is pretty fantastic, but this one is even better if you don't need the backlight from the Halo, and don't care about having the wireless remote control. Like the other BenQ ScreenBar lights, the light output is extremely well controlled and of fantastic optical quality if you care about things like color accuracy and brightness and not casting light onto your monitor illuminating any spec of dust that might be on it. This one is both brighter, as well as provides slightly improved color rendering even compared to the already fantastic ScreenBar Halo and other previous generation products. The motion detection feature is also a really nice addition, which partly makes up for not having the remote control puck since you only have to set it to what you want to use it at and then enable the motion detection mode and forget it. The implementation is even thoughtful enough that you can either walk away and let it turn itself off after 5 minutes, or tap the power icon to turn it off immediately, in which case it temporarily disables the motion detection for 30 seconds so you can step away from your computer before it re-enables the sensor again to turn back on automatically when you return. Little things like this don't seem like a big deal, but they just make using the product that much simpler and more pleasant than not having it, and over the long haul, that kind of little thing really adds up. This one makes it clear, like the previous models, why BenQ currently seems to lead the market with these monitor mounted desk lights. I wouldn't use anything else, and I'll never be without one again - it's just that much of an improvement over all the alternatives I've tried, from desk lamps and table lamps, to floor lamps, improved room lights, and competing monitor lights. BenQ monitor lights have their high ratings for a good reason. EDIT: I see one review mentioned the power button not being illuminated when the light is off. This is true, but to work around this to some extent, the power button is on the right side of the control panel in the middle of the light, and it's touch sensitive. This means you can just touch the right half of the light and slide your finger left towards the center and when you reach the power button, the light will turn on without you needing to know exactly where the button is. This may help other owners who have the same issue but otherwise like the quality of the light.

GORGEOUS MONITOR LIGHT BAR
BenQ definitely makes the best monitor light bar out there, for the premium price that is. Just started to build my setup and decided to get a monitor light for it and I personally think it looks great. Extremely easy to set up, you just use the clip on the light bar to clip onto your monitor. It’s very light weight and stable, even if I shake my table the light bar stays right in place. The light comes with a night light setting as well as easy brightness adjusters and such. There is NO RGB for any enthusiasts out there, so it integrates better into minimalist designs that you’ll see a lot more of nowadays. My monitor is a Samsung Odyssey 32” G80sd OLED if anyone has the same monitor I definitely recommend it. I tested it with other monitors such as other Samsung odyssey models as well as most Asus monitors, it fits fine. ONE MAJOR PROBLEM would be if you have a monitor with one of those big circles on the back or anything that obstructs the clip from clipping on sturdily. Other from that I think it’s a beautiful monitor light, totally worth the price. If you’re looking for more affordable options under the $100 margin a possible substitute could be the light bar from XIAOMI ($~65)

Clean, simple, and exactly what my desk needed
I’m genuinely in love with this lightbar. It completely streamlined my workspace — I was able to remove my desk lamp, which instantly reduced clutter and made everything feel cleaner and more intentional. The lighting is perfect for writing and working. I use an OLED monitor, and I was a bit nervous about glare, but there’s none. It lights up my desk beautifully without shining directly into my eyes, and I really appreciate not having an exposed bulb glaring back at me. The auto shut-off feature is also a small detail that makes a big difference. My only complaint is the webcam adapter. It doesn’t have a screw thread, which would’ve been ideal. I’m currently shopping for a webcam, and most use a threaded mount. Because of that, I have to rely on the clamp arms, which makes the webcam sit higher than I’d prefer. It works, but I would’ve loved the option to screw it in securely instead of clamping it on. That said, the lightbar itself clamps perfectly onto my monitor and feels solid. Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase. It’s one of those upgrades that quietly improves your everyday workspace without trying too hard.
