JIEHENG Light Dimming Tape 1.2 inch x 98 Feet, 50% Dimming for Electronics

This stuff is just absolutely perfect in every way, and I can't believe I didn't think about looking for this stuff years ago. Two layers will completely block a blue LED, or dim a red or green one, and one layer is perfect for most blue LEDs to knock them down to a level where they don't disturb my sleep. As a technology professional living in an apartment, all of my computers and network gear live in my bedroom, and shine and blink so brightly at night that they disturb my sleep. With this tape, I have taken back control of my life from the foolish product designers who think it's a good idea to put bright LED indicators in absolutely everything without a way to turn them off either in hardware or software, especially when they use blue LEDs, the worst offenders of all. The tape is very thin, so the backing paper is a little difficult to move, but it's still easy to trim and it still releases easily. It's easy to cut into thinner strips to fit between Ethernet jacks and cover the link state and activity lights. It's even thin enough that you can leave it overhanging Ethernet ports and still plug in the cables, to ensure the lights are well-covered, and it sticks well to plastic and metal surfaces. The only criticism I would have is that 98 feet of tape is more than I would need to five lifetimes, so I think they should sell shorter rolls, but now I have enough to give away free to my friends.

Needed this to tone down some LED shop lights that were blinding. Very easy to apply, and to remove if necessary. The 50% reduction rating is spot on. I was able to tone down the brightness without killing the illumination. Yes it's alot of product in the roll. Enough for a lifetime, but $10 +/- is cheaper than buying new LEDs.

This tape dims very well and is easy to remove and even stays sticky after a couple times removing and reapplying. But it is SO HARD to remove it from the lining, which made me hesitant to buy it in the first place. I gave it a chance, but it’s nearly impossible to remove it from the lining, it’s practically unusable. Going to get one without the lining.

Worked perfect for dimming outdoor lights that were way too bright. I liked the tone of the lights afterwards also, it has a very slightly warm hue to my eye. At first I thought 50% dimming would be too much but it’s not. The roll is also long and will last me a long time. Worth it, perfect thanks.

Getting the 50% is enough. If I want more dimming I just double or triple the tape. I had one LED that required 4 layers but it did the job and I can still see the LED functioning without the burning of my eyes.

Holy H this was worth it. I started using it the minute I got it and it's going on everything. Things to understand. You can use it on appliances but be very gentle with applying and only one layer, that way the push features still work. Pealli the back off / removing the back.. if you have problems getting it to peel off the backing, think peeling the front off the back instead. Everytime I do this it comes right off. Doubling up the layers can be tricky if you want them to look good. Sugestion, cur one strip to length and confirm it's correct. Peel and place sticky side up on a flat surface, takes some work. Then use the baking to cut the second piece to the correct size. Don't peel place on the first layer. Ta. To line up one piece on top, scrape along a horizonal surface until it touches perfectly and flip down. To have two touching on a vertical surface fold the piece not quite in half. Line up one side and place the middle first. Light touch. Then place and peel to the end until you get them to meet all the way to the end. Repeat othe side. I'm even using it buy sticking it on the metal part of some lamps to help with the glare. It's far enough away from the bulbs to not get hot. It cuts ok, just be patient. If this had FL-41 I would buy it for the world.

This tape is exceptionally good at dimming lights, and things like digital clocks are still fully legible. I’ve wanted something like this for over a year to block unnecessary light at night and finally found this.

Covered the annoying lights in my bedroom perfectly. I layered it up twice to totally block out one light.
