This is the best 'punk color' dye I have found yet! I just have a section of hair that I color as an accent. It is bleached when I want to change color completely, otherwise I will just add color when the old one fades. For instance, I will go purple over faded red or pink because they are in the same color family, but to go from red to green I will bleach between. I have done both with Adore. I went from red to Adore 'aquamarine' first, with a bleaching. The aquamarine held well, and it was a nice deep color. It lasted about 6 weeks before there was enough fade to warrant a refresh or redo. I did not bleach this time, but just used the 'indigo' over my faded aquamarine. When I went to put the color on it looked like it was going to turn out more purple than indigo, but after processing, it did not...it was a beautiful deep indigo blue. It has only been about 10 days since changing to blue, but it is still true color. I use 'Ion Color Brilliance After Color Treatment' after rinsing and that may be part of why the color has held so well. I started using that at the same time as I tried Adore hair color. I also put the hair color on my hair, create a pin curl and clip it in place with a bobby pin or two and then use one of those gel hot/cold packs (heated) to hold on it for about 20 minutes as my heat treatment. Much easier than covering with plastic and using a hair drier. I then leave it in my hair for several hours. With other color brands, I find that even after washing the dye out it will stain my skin when I sleep if it doesn't get pinned back, but I have not had that issue with Adore at all! However, it does stain my fingernails when I wash my hair, so be aware of that when you choose your nail color, or don't polish them until after washing your hair (or use gloves?) I was a fan of 'Raw' before trying Adore. While 'Raw' is thicker and smells wonderful, I think I have to say Adore rules the roost for staying power and for not staining skin.

First: I'll update with photos after I do a new root fix and some banding correction on my hair. I bought this dye to dilute with white conditioner, and do a color gloss/toning correction to go from a reddish blonde, fresh bleach base, to more of a golden blonde. Using a conditioner like Tresseme, Suave coconut, etc. As long as it doesn't have another color tint to the conditioner, you can make your own toner at home. If you are using my method for toning, only add roughly the size of a US dime, or less, and shake it up in your conditioner very well (think shake weight, yes, I know it's awkward). You only want a very pale, powdery blue as a toner. Use this as a leave-in conditioner maybe once a week, depending on how often you think you need it. For more impact, use a dryer bonnet for 10 minutes. _________________________ For those wanting to DYE their hair blue: Adore is a good product, one of many I've tried. I believe in it. Color bleeding happens, but this is one of the least-runoff dyes I've used. From the bottle, you'd think it looks a bit purpley blue, but after mixing it in conditioner I noticed it dilutes more cool blue than warm blue... if that makes sense. Warmer blues lean purple. To be honest, the color on the label IS pretty accurate. I'd say this is fairly comparable to Punky Colour, but I think I get a bit more out of each bottle. My only gripe is a squirt bottle instead of a tub. I can't use every last drop that way. *Over dark hair, this will barely show up. On Level 1 or 2 (Black or Dark Brown) this won't show up as blue, but you'll get a blue-black tone, like raven black. *Bleach your hair until it's the color of the inside of a banana peel. To achieve that kind of bleaching, either visit your local, highest Yelp rated salon, and ask them to bleach it. Do NOT expect it platinum in one visit. Hair dressers will hate you for this. Instead, follow their advice, and opt for the extra visits. If you're not using a hair dresser, look up the best methods for at-home bleaching. Do NOT try to get platinum in one day. You will chemically burn your hair and scalp. Dandruff for dayyyyys. But DO use a quick blue/blue lightning kit (or 2, given hair length). The blue bleach will help you get passed the awkward bronzey color. *If you have shoulder length hair, or longer, buy 2-3 bottles. To be safe, go with 4, because it's easier to have extras around for future root jobs and maintaining a vivid blue, than it is to have awkwardly dyed hair. When you paint on the dye, saturate each section until it looks like overkill. That's quite literally the best way to reach every strand. Also, use a dryer bonnet when letting the color set. This raises the cuticles on your hair strands, and that helps pigment seep into them. With that said, rinse your hair in very cold water, and after waiting as many days as you can stand it, wash your hair with cold water, and a color safe shampoo and conditioner -- separate bottles. The color gloss I mentioned is perfect for maintaining vivid color as well. Avoid sulfates; this pulls pigment. *If you notice bleeding, this is normal. I've had even the best dyes for my hair bleed, even with color safe hair products. Semi permanent dye always fades fairly fast, especially reds and blues. Hope that my advice helps you get the most out of the hair dye.

Love the blue and how bright it is. Doesn’t damage hair as other brands I’ve used. Beware it stains everything though, make sure you wear gloves, and check your surroundings after you’re done.

Great color

I've been using this brand for a long time and I mean years. I like it better than alot of the other competitors still. It stays bright like this for around 2 months and fades to a nice light blue towards 5 months ( if you use color safe shampoos and conditioners and weekly toners and rarely use heat after treatment). Before using the blue dyes, I make sure that my hair is very light and toned to be a platinum blonde to white as possible so your starting with a "clean canvas". I use both purple and blue toners in my bleach (40 dev. along but with a lot of serum, if you forget to add it your hair will be ruined and won't hold color at all.) I only use bleach on my untouched roots and only 4 times a year. If after I bleach it once, and don't feel comfortable with another round or it's light but not the right color, I'll just use a 20 peroxide based toner and more serum to lift more color and color correct. The purple toner kills the orange and the blue kills the super yellow. If you attempt to use this color on un bleached dark hair or incorrectly toned hair it WILL NOT look good. I see people try it because they liked mine and were very disappointed. It comes out poop green alot of the times. I only use shampoo before and skip conditioning and any type of oil because this will cause the dye not to attach leaving spots of undyed hair. I don't dry my hair all the way because i feel like it helps to distribute the color and it blends better if using 2 colors. It's important while dying your hair to be generous, and thorough. I use salon dye brushes and go section by section, then come back with a decent amount to the roots cuz I always miss a spot. I use my fingers and work the bottom color in first when doing 2 colors or else the top color will run to the bottom and your hair likes to take the first color. If you do it that way it also can come out blotchy since the colors weren't blended well. It says to use heat for 15 min. Don't just blowdry your hair. You don't want the liquid to evaporated. Once it's dry it's not soaking in anymore. I use a shower cap or ceram wrap or just a plastic bag tied around my hairline to keep it from drying up while I use the blow dryer. This also helps distribute the heat and hold it in. Just don't melt the plastic. The grocery bags shrink some but not melt. Use your dryer on lower settings or further away if it's too much heat. This dye definitely adds some health back into your hair but not as much as some other brands. After I treat it I rinse my hair in cold water only and use only products for color protection. Be careful some toners will strip colors and stay away from sulfates and alcohols. I like adore for how long it lasts in my hair even compared to the ,"permanent"vibrant color dyes which I feel have very little vibrancy in comparison to semi perms.

Used it twice, but both times it washed out within a week. I used color oops on my brown died hair and wanted to tone out the orange to a more grey uniform color. It worked perfectly for this, however it did not last in my hair, like at all. It looked significantly different and paler after every wash. I have kind of smooth hair with spiral curls, about 1" to 1/2" diameter in different parts of my hair. The more grey hairs looked quite blue but still not hold the color any more than the middle section of my hair which has previously had multiple layers of permanent brown level 5 dye. My hair normally does ok with 28 day semi-permanent color. I did use some white conditioner to tone down the blue and thicken it. Perhaps that was part of it.

I really like the semi-permanent hair color it lasts and it does not make your hair hard and stiff. It leaves a beautiful color and makes your hair silky. I used it on bleached hair since I have black hair and the color is very vibrant. It lasts a few weeks and then I have to touch up the roots but other than that I highly recommend it. I love how it adds a pop of color to my hair. It is great quality for the price.

Ho utilizzato questo prodotto su una base decolorata e già blu, ma sbiadita ad azzurro. Ho applicato il colore sul capello umido e tamponato con l'asciugamano dopo averli lavati solo con lo shampoo, l'ho lasciato in posa e poi risciacquato accuratamente e lavato normalmente. La tinta semipermanente è molto densa e pigmentata, indice di qualità molto elevata, infatti mi ha macchiato abbastanza le mani (colpa mia per non averla lavati con i guanti 😂). Colore bellissimo, profondo e freddo, quasi viola, il che è perfetto perché durerà sicuramente molto di più di un classico blu. Una caratteristica notevole di questo prodotto è che lascia i capelli davvero morbidi e non "stopposi" come le classiche maschere pigmentate. Sicuramente ricomprerò, consigliatissima

Unfortunately, I see a lot of negative reviews, but judging by the photos, it's clear that they stem from a lack of user knowledge, not the quality of the toner. The color is great, and the consistency is excellent. I've already tried several colors and I definitely recommend. But don't do it without basic knowledge of colors or you will regret it!!! (For example if You do purple on highly Yellow, The opposite color to purple on the color wheel is yellow. Then effect can be really weird, even red.)
