Sweet and Sticky, reminds me of the inside of bean mochi
Got this as a New Years treat - it's difficult to get genuine yokan here and I was instantly happy as I tasted this.Sweet, sticky and beany. A really nice texture. I must say I couldn't really taste the matcha flavour over the sweetness and nutty-bean flavour. I enjoyed it with a matcha latte anyway! Would have again (but I'd much rather have it in Japan!).As far as I can tell it's vegan - the gelling agent is agar (seaweed).
