A nice drink.
I hadn’t drank gin for around fifty years following a bad experience in my late teens, but my wife was given a bottle as a gift and I tasted it. Well I haven’t looked back, it’s a really nice drink, a tumbler glass, a measure of gin, ice and topped up with tonic or lemonade. We have a film night on Friday and Saturday nights and drink it both nights. And I was a big fan of malt whisky. I like to buy it when it’s on offer when it’s value for money.

Extremely pleasant
Labelled as gin but I got the impression that it was more like a high strength ginger wine such as Crabbies, a pleasant Ginger burn with a lingering aftertaste of Rhubarb all very natural and in an attractive 1 litre package at a very reasonable price. I don't think I'll have any difficulty getting this again.

Good
Many consumers appreciate its unique flavor combination of rhubarb and ginger, which brings a new level of flavor to the traditional gin. The slight sweetness of the rhubarb and the pungency of the ginger balance the freshness of the Duson just right. Not only can this Gin be drunk straight, but it can also be used as a base for a variety of cocktails, such as Gin & Tonic, enhancing its practicality. Its unique taste and exquisite bottle design make this gin a great gift choice, especially for lovers of alcoholic beverages who like to try new flavors. From aroma to taste to aftertaste, this gin offers a complete palate journey that is impressive. Some traditional gin lovers may feel that the addition of rhubarb and ginger masks the classic flavor of the gin, so this wine may not be the best choice for those seeking a classic gin experience. For those who prefer a more dry or less sweet gin, the sweetness of rhubarb may feel slightly overdone.Whitley Neill Rhubarb and Ginger Gin is an innovative gin with a unique flavor, perfect for consumers who like to try new flavors or are looking for an interesting cocktail base. It has a good balance of flavors, both sweet and spicy, suitable for a variety of drinking occasions. Still, it may not satisfy drinkers who prefer the flavors of traditional gin. Before choosing to buy, it is recommended to decide according to personal taste preferences.

It's delicious and moreish
I actually discovered Whitley Neill when I was looking for non-alcoholic gins for dry January, and it was the rhubarb and ginger I liked best because the kick of the ginger really nicely replaced the kick of the alcohol. So ordering this, I already knew I'd probably love the flavour, but wondered whether both the booze and the ginger would make for too much heat. The answer is: it doesn't! I find the alcohol reduces or inhibits the ginger flavour a bit compared to the 0% one, but still, this is a strongly flavoured and scented gin.The rhubarb is prominent here, too and the flavours aren't for the meek of palate. As flavoured gin goes, this is quite a sweet one and it's more rhubarb and ginger than it is botanical tasting. For me, this means it's best paired with a dry and unflavoured tonic, to allow that bitterness to balance the sweetness a little. I also think it's nicer as a long/tall drink, so a single shot with plenty of mixer and ice, rather than a large shot in a tumbler. That can only be a good thing… and it'll last longer too!In terms of lasting, this is a large 1 litre bottle, not a 0.75ml, so I think the current reduced price of £25 is a bargain compared to other flavoured gin brands. At the full price of £34, it's up there with other premium prices, but for me the quality is really excellent – the purple bottle is really pretty and this would make a fantastic gift for a gin lover. Or at least one who likes rhubarb and ginger as much as I do.5 stars, it's delicious and moreish!

Very nice ........ perhaps a bit too nice !!!
🔹INTRO & DESCRIPTION🔹Firstly, this bottle of Whitley Neill Rhubarb and Ginger gin arrived expertly packaged by Amazon, in one of their special “bottle Boxes”, so you can rest assured it will arrive safely. It is presented in a really lovely purple bottle with embossed scroll detailing, and the “Whitley Neill” name in white across the front. It is 40% ABV (though an alcohol free version is also available).🔹OPINION🔹&🔹CONCLUSION🔹I am a fan of gin, although by no means a connoisseur. I also love the flavours of rhubarb and ginger, though admittedly I am more used to them as a dessert ! I was therefore very keen to give this a try.I served it as suggested, over ice with a good quality tonic, and a slice of lemon. You can taste the slight tartness of the rhubarb, following by the mellow warming “glow” of the ginger. If you prefer something a little more sweet, it can be mixed with lemonade, although I found it sweet enough. In conclusion, this is a perfect Summer drink – ideal for enjoying outside on a warm evening. It would also make a wonderful gift for a gin-lover, and the pretty bottle really stands out either at a party or in the drinks cabinet. I will definitely keep the bottle and add some bottle lights once I’ve drunk all the gin !At the time of writing this review, the gin is on a limited time deal and is just £25, which for a 1 litre bottle is remarkable value.I am very happy to recommend this rhubarb and ginger gin from Whitley Neill.
