Mountio Full Motion LCD Monitor Arm - Gas Spring Desk Mount Stand for Screens up to 27"

I was looking to upgrade my antiquated computer monitors to this century recently; this meant that I also needed to upgrade my monitor mounts. I ended up purchasing 3 different computer monitor mounts before I found the Mountio Full Motion, Gas Spring Arm Mount. This would be the first gas spring computer monitor mount I have used; I am very happy with this purchase.Mountio Monitor Arm ConstructionThe first thing you notice about this computer monitor mount is how sturdy the construction is. Due to my mount purchases prior to my Mountio mount, I have been very critical of the construction of these mounts. To my surprise, this mount is very solid. The joints give when leveraged but not until then.A few of the other computer monitor mounts I purchase had plastic pieces for some of the supporting arm segments. This use of plastic had me nervous to mount 27 in monitors on the arms. The Mountio mount uses metal to keep this mount sturdy.Mountio Monitor Arm Gas Spring MovementI have never used a gas spring desk mount for my computer monitor so the feel of the Mountio mount was very new to me. I was very pleased to see that the movement of the monitors on the mount are almost effortless. So effortless, I was afraid that the slightest nudge would send my monitors flying. However, they stick in place even when there is some residual movements from typing or hitting the desk.The next thing you need to know is that this mount truly is 360 degrees of full motion. If you have a place to put this monitor, no matter where you want to be in relation to it, you will be able to turn it in that direction. I was testing this out and was stunned by how awesome the movement range was.If I were to point out an issue I have with the Mountio Desk Mount, it is the slight wobble you get from the mount. This could easily be attributed to my desk, as its not anchored down and I have tightened the bolts on the mounts; but there is a slight wobble.Mountio Monitor Arm PriceIf you are anything like me, after you have invested a significant amount of money for proper computer monitors, you do not really want to dole out serious cash for the computer monitor mounts (no matter how counter intuitive that statement is). You will be happy to note that this computer monitor mount will not break your bank!

I was worried about buying this, because of the inexpensive cost, but it's actually very good and I would definitely buy again and when I get a second monitor I'll buy another to match.Pros:SolidLooks goodeasy to setup and useholds 27" monitor easily and no adjustments in torque were necessaryCons:Needs minimum thickness of desk to be at least 1.75"Instructions aren't very clear about how to release lower wire housing to get wires inAlso, the lower wire housing only needs to be unscrewed from the top and then slowly let down enough to get the wires in. If you try to take it off or lower it all the way, you will break the clips holding it on at the bottom. I broke one of the clips before I realized you didn't need to pull it all the way down to get the wires into it.The clamp needs a minimum thickness of desktop, which is around 1.75" My desk is only 1", so I just added a piece of scrap 1" wood to give additional thickness to the desk so the clamp had enough to clamp onto.

I was apprehensive about this model since it was half the price of what was basically the same thing with a different logo. After using it for months now I am relieved to report that it has met my expectations of what this stand should do. And it has a smaller, less ugly logo to boot. The assembly was simple and straightforward with no missing pieces. Once put together the stand keeps the monitor fairly still even when typing. My only gripe with it is that at certain angles it can be a pain to re-position. After some familiarity you'll get the hang of how to swing this thing around how you want fairly easily. If I had a monitor that supported it, I'd buy another one.

All I can say is WOW. This is so much better than the oem stand your monitor comes with. I read the comments before I bought and some people said they had to drill a hole in their desk to bolt this in...and yeah thats an option but I don't know why you would need to do that! Mine was easy to assemble and I just clamped mine to the back of my desk with ZERO issues. Super sturdy, super tight, and doesn't droop or sag at all! The gas pistons give it a feeling of strength and good support. This took me like max ten mins to install. Less handy folks it may take a little longer but not much. Super nice, super easy to install at a great price! There is so much range to where I can face my monitor now I love it!

I am so happy with this purchase. Saves me room on my desk. Purs the monitor at the right height.

I will eventually get my 3rd monitor . Day 1 : These arms are great out of the box , super easy to setup. I have written several reviews so I tell you that the only wish list thing I have for this is that the directions were in color. That's only because I couldn't tell that the plastic piece came off so that you could adjust the tilt tightness. Even so after staring at the directions for only a minute or so was easy to do. If I ever need arms again I'm going to get these. Will update down the road.
