SIOTI Camera Long Focus Metal Lens Hood with Cleaning Cloth and Lens Cap Compatible with Leica/Fuji/Nikon/Canon/Samsung Standard Thread Lens

I've ordered the wide angle versions of these SIOTI lens hoods previously, and it is on the strength of my experiences with those that I ordered this long hood version. I accept that these generic hoods are never physically as long as a dedicated "lens specific" hood would be, but they have the distinct advantage of being able to screw them onto the front of a lens-mounted polarising filter. Thus enabling the polarising filter to be rotated by the hood itself, and no longer needing to poke one's fingers down inside the depths of the hood and risking getting fingerprints onto the glass of the filter. The 77mm size I bought has an overall depth of 35mm (excluding the threaded part). Construction is good quality, with the hood itself being made of alloy, and the lens-cap being made of plastic. Again, the ability to add the lens-cap whilst the hood id still in place on the lens is very useful. It comes complete with a piece of black cord, and is pre-drilled to accept that cord, so that you can attach it to the camera and prevent accidental loss of the cap. At about a quarter of the price of what one would have to pay for a manufacturer's own brand lens hood & cap, there's nothing really to fault about this product, and I have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

I bought the 72mm lens hood. Very happy with the metal lens hood construction and quality of the product. Comes with a lens cleaning cloth and 77mm lens/pinch cap which fits securely in front of hood. This good works great with my Viltrox 85mm f1.8 AF lens. Overall recommended product.

Excellent lens hood, particularly good design with a lens cap at the end of the hood. I bought the 55mm one for an old Tokina RMC 80-200mm F4 Ais lens and it makes a big difference on a sunny day. There is a noticeable difference with and without the hood and I find no vignetting at 80mm.

Bought this to use with my Hawke rifle scope. Does the job and costs a fraction of the manufacturer's version.

Se acopla perfectamente y protege mucho de la luz que pueda incidir. En mi caso lo tengo acoplado al PL y me va muy bien. Lo tengo también en otro Tele en su correspondiente diámetro.

Well made. Fit perfectly. Bargain priced. I bought this as a substitute for a genuine Nikon HN-31 and it’s almost as good for a quarter of the price. Won’t care if gets dinged either I’ll simply buy another one.

Monté sur un 70-200mm F4 Nikon, il tient parfaitement son rôle. Bonne protection contre le flare et bonne protection contre les chocs pour un prix modique. Le bouchon fourni est pratique car l'extrémité du pare soleil est plus grand que le diamètre de filetage coté objectif. Par rapport à un bouchon plastique, il ne risque pas de casser. Par contre, on ne pourra pas le ranger à l'envers sur l'objectif.

Nikon did not include a lens hood with the 70 -300 lens. The first hood I bought for it had a bayonet mount. The hood kept falling off. I bought this hood because it screwed on. This hood stays on. I also liked the idea I could rotate my circular polarizer by rotating the hood. I don’t have to reach into the hood to use the polarizer. The lens cap that came with the hood is another plus. Again, I don’t have to reach into the hood to remove or install the lens cap. The hood is solid and well made of metal not the cheap plastic most hoods are made of. I don’t know why they included a ”cap keeper”. It is nothing more than a piece of string that has no means of attaching it to the lens or the cap. Since I don’t use cap keepers, I stuck the string in a drawer and will probably just throw it away. Vignetting is not a problem on a longer lens. The hood may not be as long as other hoods, but it does a great job of keeping stray light out of the lens. Inexpensive, well made and works. What else do you need!
