Just got my latest shipment of 50Hertz red and green Sichuan peppercorns. These are both indispensable products in my pantry. I use the red for dishes like Mapo Tofu and La Zi Ji, delivering that classic Sichuan ma-la flavor. The green I use for stir fried greens and cold dishes, and I always add a few peppercorns to my Chinese style stock for added complexity. One thing you will notice right away is how clean these peppercorns are compared to lesser products that have leftover stems and even twigs in them. These peppercorns are fresh and vibrant and their aroma right out of the jar is out of this world. Could not recommend this product more!

I had been looking for the best quality Sichuan flower pepper for a very long time until I finally found 50 Hertz. If you're into Sichuan style cooking...Mapo tofu for me, which I did yesterday, and Kungpao chicken, and so many other wonderfully tasty Chinese dishes...I strongly recommend this one! You can tell it's the premium quality by the shape and freshness of the product - I could tell they would carefully picked and preserved. Every pepper is like a dried flower (which is the original name is Chinese) and smells and tastes strongly (for each dish there's no need to use too many, I used like 10 of them for my mapo tofu) and perfectly. I'm so happy that I found these and I'm definitely going to try out every dish in my Sichuan recipe book! (by the way, Sichuan is also sometimes spelled as Tzechuan)

50hertz is the best Sichuan peppercorn on the market. They stay fresher, and are sweeter and more fragrant than any brand I've ever found. Rather than just using a few to add a bit of tingle, I find myself using these in larger quantities because they taste so good! If you've been to China and had these fresh, you know the sort of citrus-y floral notes I'm talking about, but if not, trust me, these are delicious.

These Szechuan peppercorns are wonderful! They are floral and have the numbing effect, strong but gentle. They come in a glass container with a soft, easy to open lid. I am so glad I got to finally purchase these. I have been looking for years for something quality and nice, yet easy to buy.

The Sichuan peppers smell so fresh and have the typical numbness that electrifies and elevates the taste. I use it in sichuan spicy chicken, mapo toufu, spicy fish and salads. This is mapo tofu cooked today. It’s better than what I can find in most sichuan restaurants in the US!
