The chlorine generation works, but...The bottom of the unit does not have a smooth even surface (it exhibits multiple mold circles), which makes it difficult for the O-ring to achieve a good seal. Comparatively, the bottom surface of the original Zodiac part this is replacing was completely smooth. Given that the half-thread on the saddle clamp does not support excessive tightening of the locking ring, a slow drip is unavoidable.To add insult to injury, the supplied draw tube is on barely long enough and, worse, the supplied O-ring is too large to fit the groove in the saddle clamp, so I had to reuse the old o-ring. Sheesh!
