It actually works really well!
I use it while mowing in the Florida heat and humidity - and while it doesn't stop you from sweating, it does cool the area around the neck helping me feel cooler, and the fan is just strong enough to keep the air moving around my face and ears without being too aggressive. A lot of reviews say the plate stops being effective because it becomes 'heat soaked', that's not accurate. It's your neck, or rather where the plates touch your neck, that become 'cold soaked' - the plate themselves continue to be cold so I just adjust it to keep the cool moving around. Is this the same as an air conditioner in your car or house, no. It's more like an ice cube (but not as cold, mind you) that doesn't melt that you hang on your neck. Also, the air the fan blows is NOT cold, keep that in mind. If the ambient air is hot, it's going to be blowing that same temperature air at your cheeks - still better than stagnant air tho.Battery life is meh, not short, but not particularly long, so on a longer day I'd bring my portable power pack to keep it running. It's also not heavy, when I was digging up a few sprinkler heads it never felt like it was getting in my way. Does give 'neck brace' vibes tho, but not overly restrictive anyway.

Buy the White one!
We ordered 4... 2 black and 2 white. The white ones have 4 speeds and the black ones only have 3 speeds. My husband said he couldn't tell the difference but I could. That being said the white one was fabulous for our Disney trip. I wore it all day long... I did have to charge it again mid afternoon but I had it on speed 4 from like 9am, so it seemed to last a long time. Loved that you could tilt it. The rubber part in the back to make it flexible to take on and off did catch my hair at times, but it was a minor inconvenience to the cool breeze this created!

Useful in some situations
The fan has one great design feature which is the ends can swivel so the airflow goes in a comfortable direction. Most reviews overstate the effectiveness of neck fans by a longshot. It is effective in situations when there is no atmospheric breeze. So indoors this works great. Outdoors it is helpful if you're sitting outside on a hot day, particularly if you are in the shade and it can help you get more comfortable. If you're moving around or there's any wind the effectiveness is significantly less. If your body temp is high from walking around at an amusement park, don't expect this to be a portable A/C. It helps get you to a comfort level much quicker in a circumstance where you are not in an escalating or relentless heat situation. For $26 this is worthwhile but be realistic about where it will work.

A fantastic high-quality cold-air Neck Fan that provides you with that AC cool air feel.
The media could not be loaded. Today I had the pleasure of receiving my "aimdty ChillGo" Bladeless Neck Fan, and I couldn't be more happier. The quality of this Neck Fan is of very high materials, feels hefty in the hand and when put around your neck, very comfy and none abrasive, and doesn't irritate my skin, or weigh my neck down which is obviously bad for your upper back and lower as well. I could wear this all day with a small and thin power bank connected to a USB-c.The lowest setting provides plenty of air, and if you really need a higher blast of continues cool air, you could go to medium and be fine. It all depends on where you're located, and the current climate of where you're at. In California, the weather is generally very mild compared to other States in the USA. The highest temperature we've had in recent time is maybe 100 degrees?I think this will do a great job in the 70s, and 80s. I can't speak for those who get an average of 90 degree temps, but you could give it a shot, and if you're an Amazon Prime member and are unhappy with the purchase, Amazon makes it very easy to return it. Thank you for reading my review, very excited to point this to more use during the months of June, July and August.I think in conclusion if you're say at an event outside in a standing position, this will be beneficial for you. If you're out in your garden and want to be out in direct sunlight, it'll work for you. If you're in your house and do have access to AC, save this unit at full-power and keep it when you really need it (say if the power goes out and it's muggy and hot), this will work for you.

I like it for $30
This fan out of the 3 I tried is my favorite. It doesn’t have the ice pack on the pack but the fact it’s not so bulky and it folds has a better feel on the neck.

Does not cool back of neck.
Purchased this for work as my lab is not cooled like other areas of the building and it gets super stuffy. It's nice, but I am not very impressed with the cooling ability. The vents either go into your face and likely dry out your eyes/nose/mouth, or you can turn upside down to cool your neck/collarbone. I was hoping for something that cooled the back of the neck where it would be most effective. Have not decided if I am keeping or returning. I'd suggest you keep looking for something that cools the neck.

Needed something to keep me cool around my neck and hairline. I have to measure a lot of doors and windows in a day and I sweat bad. Also, postmenopausal so getting hot is no joke. This fan is PERFECT!! It's powerful (3 speeds) strong airflow (adjustable areas) and it STAYS ON!! It angles and folds in to hold on as you move! Im very pleased!! ONLY negative is if you forget to pay attention, it can pull your hair when removing them.
