Super easy to use. fast WiFi connectivity. Light weight.
The media could not be loaded. I wanted this light to match my other two GVM lights I have. I really wanted a 3 light setup. This one is perfect due to its size and weight. The Bluetooth control was super easy to connect with. I really like the coloring in the lower ranges. The sunset lighting looks amazing. The power box on this one feels a lot lighter than some of my other GVM models which is great. I was surprised to see it light up on the sides and a color screen on the back. My other two lights didn't have this and I wasn't expecting it here. The scene/special effects options are the same as the other GVM products. This light doesn't do colors outside of the white spectrum. So no blues or oranges or whatever. This light does not come with a stand. The connection for the light is pretty generic so that isn't a big deal. I normally throw the cheap stands that comes with these lights away and mount them on my own stands anyway. Overall, super satisfied with the purchase and I think it will work great with my snoot since I normally like to mount it high and the snoot gets super hot.... so being able to control it remotely without touching or adjusting my stand will be a huge plus.

Gets the job done at least
The light is decent for a solo filmmaker or photographer looking for a continuous light and the Bluetooth management is handy too. Unfortunately though, there are things like color accuracy, shaky bowens mount and the fact it doesn’t even have a clamp for the power source to attach to light stands are big gripes for me and make me wish I spent the extra money and got a more reputable brand.

Professional results at a fraction of the cost
The media could not be loaded. First of all this is a fraction of the cost which I was skeptical about but it delivers same results. Comes with a nice carry bag that doesn’t weigh a ton. The light itself is solid and has some weight to it. I really did think it was going to feel like a chunk of plastic but it definitely wasn’t. When I tested it out I just loved the intensity of the light and how it stays cool and doesn’t get overly hot. It doesn’t include a stand but can be attached to any stand or clamps. The case makes it extremely portable and I use it for my on the go gigs where I just need a bit more lighting without the bulk.

Well Built Workhorse
Right from the beginning the GVM Studio Light comes off as professional. The light comes in a well padded, zippered case, with adjustable compartments. The power cord is heavy duty and grounded, there is a velcro belted sleeve to hold the power supply to the light stand. The unit has some heft at 16 lbs. The light is mostly metal construction. There are 5 pin DMX plugs for light box control. There is also an App interface for those who want to control lighting with their phone. The operation is not intuitive. There is a small color screen, four buttons and two dials that allow the user to navigate three menus. In the basic CCT mode, which I use all the time, it pretty simple, brightness and color temperature. Like other 200 watt LED lights this one packs a punch, there is plenty of light to illuminate through several layers of diffusion. It takes a bit of experimentation to figure out how to move and change modes. There are two other modes that are a bit gimmicky. Source Mode is supposed to mimic tungsten, Arc, studio, sun and so on. The manual doesn't give perimeters for these simulations like the color temperature of "studio", so it's mostly for show. The third mode is for effects. These settings have become ubiquitous on lower-end lights simulating TVs, lightning, strobe, fire and so on. I imagine these modes would be helpful when shooting drama. This is a good studio light for production at a competitive price. The GVM SD200B is well built and should stand the daily rigors of production.

What's not to love about this light???
This is the second in my set of two of these lights. The first was so amazing, it needed a partner. They connect via an app and they can be controlled independently or separately. It's made of all metal, it's a chunky, professional quality build light that is Bowens mount and very bright. Even the carrying bag is padded and very protective. Everything about this light screams professional. I only wish I had found this company first before investing in other studio lights. This ecosystem of combined lights is incredible.

Insanely bright
This light is great for mimicking the sun with it's intense brightness, lol. The fan is quiet and the light output is far beyond what I expected. There are multiple modes with adjustments to create effects as well. Definitely a good light for videography, but be aware that it is fairly large. The included carry case is a nice touch as well and keeps everything protected!

Continuous light for photography
Haven’t had a chance to put it to use on a shoot but withthe quick tests I’ve done my confidence in this thing is crazy high, I already love this thing. Bright, crazy options, built in gels, effects, and an app to control everything. I haven’t tested enough to hear how loud the fan gets (for video) but for the 10 minutes I had it on each time and it’s super quiet.I have a shoot in a couple weeks I’ll update the review if needed.
