Dimplex Fan Heater, White, 2KW

I bought this to pre-heat my bathroom before a shower, as the existing bathroom heater doesn't really heat my fairly large bathroom.Via extension lead, I can place this in my bathroom to pre-heat the room and does so on its 1kw setting in around 15-20 mins. Once the room is warm my existing bathroom heater can hold the temp. So, I can safely remove the fan heater before using the room. As this heater isn't really bathroom proof.Certainly, can warm and room 12 x 9 feet quickly on 1kw, I would expect it to cope with slightly larger happily on 2 kw setting. Although it is fairly quiet you do get a whirring fan noise, certainly quieter than small versions because of its large blade size.

Boiler broke down and it just happened to be the coldest April ever! It done it’s job. We were nice and toasty. Nice and compact.

These are great little heaters. I ordered 2 of them. The thermostats can be adjusted to get them to come on and off effectively. The fans are very fast and this causes quite a bit of noise. Its not mechanical noise. Its the blades of the fan moving through the air. Been running these fans for a few weeks with no problems.

This little device saved our day after the electric company suddenly changed our plan and half of our heating does not work during the day any longer! It warms up the room from around 12C (53F) in the morning in about half an hour, our seating room is around 4x6 meters (approx. 13x20 feet). You can also fine tune the thermostat to your required temperature (although you have to have a separate thermometer to check the room temperature). As expected it makes a bit of noise when running, but I cannot see how they would get around that... it is physics! The build quality seems very strong, and the size is perfect to leave somewhere in a corner. Although I cannot verify this, I think this device is more efficient than the wall electric heater in the same room. NOTE: I was really disappointed at amazon for delivering the item 2 weeks late. The pretext was that the weather was bad, however, the depot was about 10 miles away and the roads were perfectly clear from there to here. In fact, the tracking info said that the item was at the depot for the aforementioned weeks and that it was out for delivery every day. I do not care so much about the two weeks but about the fact that they say they are going to deliver and do not come.

A good strength heater, and good quality build. The fan is a decent power. The only problem is that the LED remains lit up even if the heater is turned off. That means if used in a bedroom you'll need to pull out of the extension socket or switch off at the socket to stop the bright indicator light. An odd design decision - what's the point of a power indicator light that remains on when the power is off?

The colour isn't specified. I'd describe it as off-white or pale grey. The fan is a simple item, a cold air setting that will give frost protection at about 5 degrees, two heat settings, and a basic thermostat. It has been described as 'quiet' and I suppose that is a matter of perception. I think it is loud enough to be a distraction if you are watching TV. It is quite small and neat and does the job. It seems to be well made and has a three year Dimplex warranty which probably makes it worth paying that bit extra over some of the alternatives.

overall happy with the product. working fine, although it does not heat up the room as quickly as my old heaters, and it is not as quiet as other reviews suggested. a normal level of noise for a fan heater, certainly not very quiet. i like the fact it is lightweight and it is stable, does not switch off when it decides to, as one of my old heaters . i work from home doing beauty treatments and needed an additional heating in the room, and this one does the job just fine.
