Quality and Cost Effective
It Works! After pouring over so many reviews for a refill kit for my Nespresso Vertuo, I landed on this product and am honestly impressed. It makes removing the foil on the pods very simple and clean cut. Once pods are cleaned, this product makes the refill process very easy. Yes, it takes a little practice and refilling pods takes some effort, but the results are so worth it. Occasionally, a pod will not pop up immediately to the disposal position when I lift the Nespresso Vertuo machine lid, but I just gently tap at it and it pops up, I then close and reopen and it slides out as it should, ready for me to insert another pod. The sealing is excellent once you get the hang of it, which I found pretty easy. Also of note is to use a good quality fine ground Expresso, this makes it all come together and obtain the result I was looking for!

LOVE this! Saves me a boat load of money!
I wasn't sure how well these would work, but they do the job perfectly AND they work with my Vertuo machine! I originally had a struggle figuring out which part went where and how to make it work. It wasn't extremely difficult- just took me a minute or two. The process is tedious, as I empty and fill multiple pods at a time, but it's SO worth the cost and time. Plus, it saves a TON of money, since the Nespresso pods themselves are outrageously priced. My tip: I saved a ton of pods to do at once, so some of the pods had gotten mold inside of them (so I obviously had to throw those away). I'd suggest doing a few at a time, depending on how often you use the machine. I don't use it but my boyfriend does, so I use it a few times a week. It's super easy to use, and fits on the pods perfectly. Easy to clean, too! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Works great if you take the time and effort to do it correctly
These work well - I am very happy with the results, but you get out of it what you put into it. Just make sure that you DO NOT pack the grinds tightly into the capsule, otherwise you will likely have leakage and maybe even have the machine malfunction (it won't break the machine, but it could make a mess.) ALSO: Make sure the you tightly seal the foil lid onto the pod. After you accurately line up the foil lid correctly (there is a lip on the base of this kit that aids you tremendously in making the alignment), you use the cap (the flip side of the tamper) of this kit to press down tightly and seal the foil lid onto the pod. 90% of the time the seal is tight enough to work properly, but occasionally it won't be tight enough and will leak. I found that to ensure a practically 100% no leak seal, if I also take one additional last step - if you take something like the wooden handle rounded end of the brush that comes with the kit, and use it by running it around the outer edge of the foil lid where it sticks to the pod (pressing hard while doing so) to really make sure the foil lid is very tightly sealed to the pod, your pod will work just like an original new Nespresso pod and it won't leak. Originally I bought this kit for two reasons: 1) to save money. and 2) to makes pods using various other coffees that I like in my machine. Just be aware, that in saving money it takes time to to effort to empty, clean, and to refill the pods. So, you are saving cash, but you are paying the difference with your time and effort (ie, sweat equity) and the time and effort you spend is not a very small amount. Re-read what I said above in the steps you need to take to assure that your re-filled pods will work properly and just like a new Nespresso pod. I spend 1-1/2 hours each week refilling pods for the next weeks worth of brews. That's a pretty big offset versus the money you save and convenience you forego. After awhile you may not find the savings worth the time spent, I do this as a hobby, so I don't mind. Also. l really like using certain brands of coffee to make pods to use in my machine. So, I'm not really doing it to save money. Further, I also really like some of the selections and the high quality of the coffees offered by Nespresso,. I still buy many different sleeves of new Nespresso pods as well as refilling pods with other brands off coffee. Mayby like 50 / 50, I get the best of both worlds!!

Very time consuming
This kit works perfectly and saves money. The foil lids seal well, and the tools make refilling easy. Great for anyone who uses Nespresso Vertuo regularly.

Solves every issue for a fast cup of joe
Before trying this I tried with the reusable rubber ones and I failed miserably with that. That experience led me to see shortcomings with that method and every single thing in this solves that. Cutting, tamping, sealing. This is not only a cost cutting mechanism. You can try with coffee and roast of your choosing. And since the company has monopoly on pods, you never know when they’re gonna raises prices at will. Time: I didn’t find it time consuming like people said. I can easily whip out a pod in under 2 minutes. - Take the pod, use the cutter to slice, empty and wash - Wipe the pod, scoop coffee (preferably pre measured), 2 tbsp is perfect, tamp. I use a scoop funnel which makes this very easy. - Remove the sticker, place it on provided edge, press. That’s it. And unlike the reusable ones, this one seals so there’s no mess. The cutter is perfect. Everything is well thought out.

Decent but takes some getting used to
I got this to stop buying so many pods and the idea is great in theory. The tamp and press tool works fine and the foil lids seal well enough. My issue is that the whole process takes longer than I expected, filling, tamping, sealing, it adds up when you just want a quick coffee in the morning. The coffee itself tastes good when you get the grind and amount right but that took me a few tries to figure out. Not a bad kit overall, just more of a commitment than I thought it would be.

This is the Kit to Get!
There are so many of these out there! What's the difference? I had one with a rubber, reusable top for the pods. Messy. Inconsistent, bad design. As with many of these kits, it was up to you to "prepare" the pod by removing the old foil top, which was very difficult to do. Please keep in mind: this is a precision system that involves the pod spinning very fast, combined with air pressure. It's not going to work well if the rebuild of the pod is not done precisely. There can't be a loose fit or rough edges, and the foil you apply has to be pressed down onto the little shelf that goes around the inside of the pod's top edge. Some systems provide a tool to press down the new foil, some do not. But worse: beware of any kit that doesn't provide a way to remove the old foil - that's the hardest part if you want these to come out perfectly; and they really have to be perfect in order to work correctly. The tamper, on its reverse side, has a round, flat section you put over the new foil and press - when you do, suddenly the wrinkles are gone and the foil is pressed perfectly along that small shelf inside the top round pod rim. If you have issues with leaking in any way, it's probably this step you're not doing well (or at all). After pressing the new foil into place, you shouldn't have to "wrap" the edges; as long as you placed the foil carefully, there are no protrusions along the edges except for one tab, which should be wrapped under (remember there will be spinning!). This kit includes a removal tool outfitted with a razor-sharp cutter. With this you can remove the old foil PERFECTLY every time in about two seconds. You do NOT have to remove the foil that remains around the rim, and NEVER remove the bit of foil that was part of the original OEM pod. The company states you can re-use a pod five times - they come up with this because you'll have five layers of foil, each layer remaining after using the razor cutting tool, and apparently that's fine (up to five) ... but it's not hard to pull the old foil OFF THE RIM. It's as if it has a wire inside it, and you can pull hard and the whole thing comes off (all the layers if multiple layers) in one swipe. If you do this, you can use a single pod an unlimited number of times. Be sure of a few things - the bar codes have to be visible. If it's covered a tiny bit by that tab, no big deal, but the bar code should be generally uncovered (easy to do). Also, when you empty a used pod of grounds, don't use water, just use a dry paper towel; there's no need to use water and all you're going to do is dry it after you wet it. When you have the emptied pod in your hands, while wiping it, press out any indentations (this is your only chance). When filling, it's pretty impossible to overfill a pod - bring it up to flush with the top then tamp it, done. Among the many versions of this kit, this one is FAR BETTER than most of the others, which sometimes come with no tool for removing the old foil (you'll spend all day swearing in the kitchen doing this), and some reviewers say the replacement foils don't stick well (a big problem that does not happen with these if you use the press tool). Take your time. My friend and I reminisced about the days we spend ceremonially cleaning seeds out of our stash, to ultimately roll a perfect joint. This is the kind of experience we can enjoy in our old age now with this pod refill kit! I recommend trying a low-acid coffee (Fabula is excellent). There are many much better coffees out there than the limited special "flavors" offered by Nespresso/Starbucks you can try. For quality, look for beans that are not "blends." Look for single source, mold free and low acid coffees. You'll be in coffee heaven right here on coffee earth.

It’s okay for perfectionists
This was highly compatible with my Nespresso Vertuo Pop and it fit the pods perfectly, BUT you have to get it perfectly on top and you cannot fill it too much otherwise it would just drain into the pod reservoir and flood my countertop. It’s a thin aluminum material so it punctured very well as long as you did it 100% perfect. After a while it just wasn’t sustainable to have some perfect and some wonky. It didn’t impact the taste of the coffee at all and it helps to use a normal grind coffee that you would use in a regular coffee maker

Awesome! its so easy now.
I used to fill manually, and it was a lot of work, not worth the time. Then I bought another brand of helper (RECAPS Filling Tool Holder Coffee Tamper) and it became faster. When I bought this, it made it so easy to re-fill. Awesome product, well worth the cost. just dont compress the coffee grounds too much.
