BERNHudson Commuter Bike Helmet with MIPS, Rated for E-Bike, Integrated LED Rear Light and U-Lock Compatibility

I recently started commuting on a scooter to work, and wanted a helmet for both night visibility and that looked "adult". This meets both criteria. The LED red light is bright, and offers a strobe and flash mode for high visibility. It is also detachable and is recharged through micro-usb (not usb C sadly).The helmet features the MIPS impact system, a big plus for me. Good to know that if I take a tumble what little brains I have will remain somewhat unscrambled. This system works by having a thin plastic lining in the helmet that shifts on impact, allowing the helmet to absorb more rotational force than a traditional helmet. This stops the impact energy from being directly transferred into your head, and therefore your brain (not good!). Very important.I also was surprised at how well the visor does at keeping the sun out of my eyes during my morning commute. The way the helmet sits (at least on me) is just above my eyebrows on the front, so the visor is perfectly positioned to keeping my eyes in the shade. The visor is also removable and they include a separate velcro comfort strap to take its place that also does a great job of soaking up your sweat.The fit system this helmet uses is a very friendly harness system with twist knob. Simply tighten the knob to get the perfect fit on your head (you still need to get the correct size helmet of course). No fiddling with a bunch of straps and tightening/loosening and hoping you got it right. You will feel this thing grip the occipital knob on the back of your head and KNOW it is in the correct spot.Overall, well worth the money for an easy to use and very safe helmet with multiple great safety features!

My wife bought this to replace an expired helmet, and we wanted to make sure the new helmet had the best current safety ratings and technology (MIPS).This helmet looks great, and she says it is so light that it doesn’t feel like she’s wearing a helmet. Doesn’t appear to flow a lot of air.Deducting one star due to missing rear light. This appears to be a common issue with this product. I’ve written to Bern Helmets for a replacement.

This Helmet was for my Daughter who just relocated to California. She said it’s fantastic, a great fit and perfect for the daily commute to work. The LED light however was defective upon arrival. Rather than just return and replace as her job has already started, I went to Bern directly and paid $25.67 to order and have delivered to her a new LED. I also wanted to add that I’ve sent 2 separate messages directly to the manufacturer Bern and received no response. Customer service is not a priority these days.

Really nice helmet. I have 2. Has MIPS protection! Very light weight. Light on the back, very comfortable. recommended!

I haven't used it yet but I have gone through unpackaging, fitting & sorting through parts. I purchased this to use as a new electric scooter owner.It comes well packaged, with a bonus sticker tag.My head measured 22 1/4-22 1/5 inches (approx 67 cm.) so I ordered the Medium. It has a loose fit but the dial adjusts it tightly on my head.I love the visor & its removable with a replacement pad included.The lock holes are a nice size & the light pops easily in & out for charging.Overall, I'm impressed with the look, fit, quality & the price was fair.

For a helmet that's over $100, the light they used is amazingly bad. It hardly registers, no way to tell if it's on while it's on your head (yeah it's that weak, I tried cupping my hand over it to see the red reflection, nothing even though it was on and strobing). It's also a straight up b**** to take out to charge.The rest of the helmet is pretty nice, seems well designed if you take the light out of the equation. The locking system works well and is comfortable and the ability to swap out the visor is nice. I honestly would have paid an extra $30-40 if they had a nicer light. I would even prefer a hardwired light with a usb in the helmet to charge it if that meant the actual light was of better quality/brighter.Overall I'm not entirely disappointed but if you're buying this helmet for the light, run, run far far away.I'm really considering just filling in the light hole with molding and slapping some red reflective tape over it. It will probably be brighter than the light, would need zero charging and I wouldn't have to guess or take my whole helmet off to see if the light is working.

I love this helmet. I bought it for my daughter as she started riding an ebike to her school. I researched and found this to be a top rated helmet. This gives me some level of comfort as she starts to get some independence. But as kids are kids, the LED light did fall out somehow. I reached out to the company and they replaced the light. Just like that. There are so few companies that provide customer service these days. I will be a customer now ongoing. A quality product and a company that stands behind their product. One less thing in life to stress about. Her helmet has a night light again. thank you!

The visor head padding used to encircle your whole head and snap in with sturdy metal snaps in bern helmets and this new style just attaches with very weak adhesive and Velcro and only in the front of the helmet. The visor Velcro attachment points came off of the inside almost immediately and kept creeping into my eyes while riding. I had to remove the Velcro points and reattach them with superglue.My head is within the range of the Large size and the helmet seems to be shaped for non human heads. Human heads are slightly elliptical but this helmet is just a big circle so it’s far too loose on the sides and in order to get it so it doesn’t move you have to crank the dial in the rear far too tight.The light on the back is nice though.

Read good reviews about this helmet and ordered the L/XL version (59-62 cm). Usually that size fits well but this helmet was a little tight on the sides, so avoid if you have a super round head. The seller “Automotive Direct“ was responsive and processed the return/refund promptly, will definitely shop with them again in the future.

Bought this to use on an E-scooter (‘21 Apollo Ghost). It goes faster than a bike so I like the increased speed rating and I wasn’t ready to commit to a full face helmet. Since all the lights on the scooter are pretty low, I wanted a light higher up for increased visibility. It’s not a super bright light, as others have mentioned, but it does the trick for me. It’s pretty comfortable and doesn’t look stupid for a helmet with this much safety designed into it.

One of the best helmets around. Safe, comfy and posh. The read LED light is an additional bonus.

J'ai remplacé un casque de la marque Casco, et il n'y pas photo, ce casque ne lui arrive pas à la cheville.La jugulaire de détend régulièrement, il faut la resserrer tout les trois jours !!!!Pas top pour la sécurité.En terme de confort celui ci est à peine plus confortable qu'un casque Décathlon d'entrée de gamme.Il n'y a de système de fixation d'oreillette pour protéger les oreilles l'hiver du froid.Bref passer votre chemin.

Finally got my hudson. But i was disappointed. Helmet was in plastic bag pavked in simple paper box. Without original box. And general disappointment was no light.
