We replaced our mattresses and were surprised how dirty they were. I want to keep them clean so we bought one of these covers to try out. It fit the mattress perfectly and works great so we got one for the second mattress. It is comfortable to sleep on and will keep the mattress looking new.

I have no way of testing if it's actually doing what it claims to do. But if it's anything like the pillowcases, it's a very tight weave and lets almost no air through the material. If that's the case, then it prob does a great job of preventing dust and mite through. What I do like is the quality of construction and material. Fit is almost perfect for my Amazon Basics 10" Queen Mattress. It fits so snug that when my daughter washed the sheets, she didn't even know it was a cover, she thought it was just the mattress.

Fits my thick mattress and is waterproof. I know this because water got spilled on the bed and it didn't soak through this pad into the mattress, in spite of the bedspread, blanket, and sheets being wet. It's easy to wash too.

I got the smooth cotton topped mattress protector. I like that it is topped with cotton so I don't have to put a cotton fitted sheet over it. It is thin and not sure how well it holds back water. My mattress was wet underneath from my daughter having an accident at night. But if changed out quickly, it may not soak through as fast. Overall I like it more than my other protectors because it is thin and easy to wash and dry. I also have a cheap mattress so I am just trying to extend the life some.
