I decided to ditch Windows since my Windows10 HP is barely functioning. I was hoping to wait until closer to the October 2025 deadline, but then I saw this Chromebook about a month ago. The price was right and I was tired of waiting half a day for updates to finish installing on my laptop. It was my intention to replace my laptop with a Chromebook, since I was already familiar with the OS. It suits my needs perfectly. It is so much faster and lighter than my laptop was. It is fast and I like the size. The sound is really good for everyday functions. The speakers are on top, on either side of the keyboard, rather than underneath the case. I like how the keyboard feels. It seems like good quality to me. The keys are tight and precise, but not backlit (which wasn't something I needed). I like having the touchscreen for ease of use. The only thing some people might have a problem with is the air vents are on the bottom, so if you're using it on your lap, you'll feel it heat up. It isn't hot, but it's something to be mindful of to prevent overheating. The screen is clear. It's very easy to use this Chromebook, especially if you already have a Google account. Setup was quick and easy. I ordered a wired keypad, since that is something I've grown used to using over the years. I haven't found the adjustment to be troublesome, so I haven't actually used the portable keypad that often. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and would recommend this product. This is my first Acer product. After setting up the chromebook, the Acer registration process was simple and took about five minutes to complete. This Chromebook starts fast. Updates take less than a minute. Everything I need is at my fingertips. It works with my wireless printer, which also took about five minutes to set up. I really don't have any complaints, but I was upgrading from a 2018 laptop, so other people may not share my experience if they have newer equipment to compare this to. I consistently have a lot of tabs open at the same time. I stream videos and often switch back and forth between tabs and apps. I use wireless earbuds with this as well. Quick and easy setup, perfect functionality. My Favorite Thing: The camera privacy slide. I know it's a small thing. But it was one of the first things that put this in my list of Chromebooks. I ultimately chose this one based on price. It offered everything I was looking for except for a built-in keypad. That was a small concession to make in order to save at least a hundred dollars.

This Chromebook works wonderful. It's quick and easy for the everyday user. Emails, surfing and streams wonderful. Needs to have a lighted keyboard.

I have owned other Chromebooks in the past and have been pleased with the line in general. This Acer Chromebook has some really nice features like a large screen and good sound quality. Thus far I have found it to be reliable and to boot up quickly. If you are used to using a Windows computer or a Mac, you will find that the interface is a little different as the operating system is distinctly Google. That said, I use this Chromebook for my work. I do a lot of video conferencing and the camera quality has been solid. I know some other commenters have mentioned that the keyboard is not backlit. That is not an issue for me and has not impeded my ability to use the system. My one critique would be that the battery life is a little less than some other Chromebooks that I've owned. Overall, it's a quality device fast and very user friendly.

My Chromebook came right on time. I love the fact that I can pull it out of the box and immediately log in. The battery life is amazing. I can use it for 2 work days. It’s sleep looking and very versatile. I slide it into my carry case with no problems. The display is quite large and the 1080 pixels are sharp and bright. I live the new soft touch tap for the mouse. The touch screen is perfect. Not too sensitive I highly recommend this model for its ease of use, long battery life and plus option. Best price I found.

I've used Windows PCs and laptops forever, so I was a little wary of switching things up at first. But I really didn't need any native Windows applications anymore and I already keep everything important on my Google Drive, so I decided to take the plunge. I'm using an external USB keyboard (Kinesis) and mouse (generic USB) as well as a second monitor (HDMI). All of these are working perfectly through either of the 2 USB-C docking stations I've tested this with, although I did have to burp my keyboard back to its factory settings at one point while I was getting everything set up and updated. Overall, I'm very happy with my decision. The UX of the new device feels almost identical to what my old laptop felt like before it died its slow death, right down to all the keystroke shortcuts. I have had to learn a few things about what works from the app store and what doesn't (for example Google Sheets works badly from the app store, but great from within the Chrome browser), but overall it's been a pretty seamless transition. I have no idea whether this Chromebook is significantly better or worse than others out there, but so far it's great for what I'm doing. It also looks like it will be getting software updates from Google for a long time, based on my reading of Google's documentation.

This isn't just a cosmetic issue; it is a functional defect. Because the device has clearly been used before, the unique redemption code for the Google AI Perk has already been claimed. When I attempted to activate the subscription on the official Chromebook Perks page, I was notified that the offer was already redeemed for this specific device. This means the product's primary value proposition is missing. You are essentially paying for a bundle that is impossible to activate. This is a massive failure in quality control. If you decide to risk this purchase, check your redemption eligibility immediately, as the "New" status of these units is highly questionable.

It works fine and I love the Chromebook as a tool, but the keyboard layout leaves something to be desired. The spacing and placement of keys are a little awkward. Also, this thing forces you to scroll with your finger. It's almost impossible to do using the pointer.

The keyboard has issues. Some keys are not functional. And I have to use an external Bluetooth keyboard to use the laptop.
