is there anywway to soften this shirt? firm is one thing but these are like plywood …

I've worn Wrangler denim shirts all my life, but stopped for a couple decades and wore suits. Just ordered a denim for old time sakes. Believe mine were made in US. They were always stiff when new, but weren't, uh, nipple-chafers and softened up quickly after a few washes. I read the reviews after buying: "It may have some value as a bomb blanket or to provide shelter in the event of a direct nuclear strike" My goodness. I'm wondering if the color shirts might offer ballistic protection if left unwashed. As a long-time Wrangler buyer (off hiatus) I'll review my offshore denim shirt when I get it.

Is it good for welding

As with all shirts, depends on type welding and whether you use welding sleeves. They go a long way in protecting the shirt sleeve. Otherwise, if it is stick welding, your brace arm will have freckle burns on the sleeve. These are good shirts, I have worn them for decades. They were part of what I considered my basic work uniform along with the Wrangler jeans, and Red Wing Boots

6'3" 200 lbs anyone recomend size? I bought 2 different styl large wranglers and both way too small.

2X LT. I'm 6'4", 270#. These are great shirts. Stiff a first, wash 'em cold. After breaking them in, iron them and they are proud yet humble as ever. Tuck' em in to a pair of Wrangler Indigo 13MWZ Original Cowboy Cut, nice boots and you'll attract your cowgirl like a bee to honey.

Im looking for this shirt in a 3xlt or maybe a 4xtl if it shrinks, does any know what size that might be i cant seem to figure out the size charts.

I'm wearing 2xl but this shirt was big for me.I prefer the smaller one.

Great shirts……. takes a bit of wearing in

This is a great looking shirt. However it takes wearing in.Upon first opening it is VERY STIFF. You would be forgiven for thinking it was made of hard board.I have worn it around the house, lazing about in it and had it washed several times…. It is now, just about wearable.Why buy it then? you may ask…… once worn in it looks great, feels great. Similar to a good denim shirt it moulds and fits to your body shape. Super hard wearing, it will probably end up being a treasured family heirloom you leave to loved ones in your will.A little perseverance required, but very worth it.

Good shirt, but massive sizing

Decent hard wearing, good quality shirt. Stupid American sizing. A ‘large’ is big enough to make into a marquee, so if you’re a UK large, medium might be a better fit.The shirt has a slightly shiny finish, and has a firm texture, as if it’s been starched. More comfortable with a vest or T-shirt underneath. Overall, looks great and feels like it will last forever.

Not suitable for size small

The quality is excellent. Thick, durable cotton for working in, but the small is equivalent to a large. The "Cowboy cut" line just aren't sized properly and don't fit smaller sizes. I'm 5'7 and usually wear a small/medium, but this was like trying on a tent.
