Q: Is this the same thing as the Jacquard brand soda ash??

Although we are uncertain if the Jacquard brand uses any fillers in their product, they are the same type of item. (Cesco's is 100% Soda ash, with no additives or fillers).

Q: Is this 100% sodium carbonate?

Yes I believe it is; I used it as such.

Q: Can i tie dye w/o using soda ash?

The short answer, yes, you can. However, for better color saturation, (brighter, bolder colors) it is better that you use soda ash in your process. I recommend watching a few "You Tube" videos to get a better idea about the process and difference between using the soda ash and not. A good video is "Tye Dye with Ernie Cox" he has a very good demonstration on how to use soda ash and also Tye Dye techniques.
