Kept me on the edge of my seat
I can't believe that I've only gotten around to watching this movie now. Normally my husband and I find it difficult to agree on what to watch, and seldom do we find a movie we both agree on. For once, we both really enjoyed this one. At first I thought it was a bit of a groundhog day plot, but I advise viewers to stick with it as it gets so much better, with lots of little twists and turns to keep you gripped. By the end I was literally on the edge of my seat, praying for a happy outcome. I'm not going to spoil the ending or give away the plot - just watch the movie, you won't regret it.

The best sort of sci-fi movie!
An intriguing idea for a movie brilliantly executed by Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan, Vera Farmiga and Jeffrey Wright. The concept teases your brain and the story as it evolves also tugs at your heart strings. I love this movie and every time I watch it, I always finish it with a few tears. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes an entertaining and interesting sci-fi movie.

A gripping 90 mins about time travel and ethics which keeps you thinking
It can be easy to be confusing when producing a piece of entertainment involving time travel. Lord knows Doctor Who and a recent comic book movie got really close.Source code is a fantastic entry into the time travel movies of our time, presenting a completely believable (at least for me, who's seen the mentioned show/film(s)) story on what would happen if we kept travelling back to relive, investigate and possibly change a specific stretch of 8 minutes in the past. The film also involves ethics. For fear of avoiding spoilers, I'll say this: it presents a question of ethics as to whether certain people were right in what they did to investigate a terrible tragedy in the past in pursuit of the terrorist who created said tragedy. All the cast involved, including of course Jake Gyllenhaal (apologies if I screwed up the spelling). His work in End of Watch was also a favourite of mine, and I hope he does as well in Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Oh my!
Groundhog day without the jokes and all the better for that. Jake Gyllenhaal is, as usual magnificent. There are twists upon twists upon twists and I won't spoil things by describing any of them. Suffice to say this is 90 minutes of pure action, well written, well shot and well acted. I don't know why I waited so long to watch it. Loved it.

They went for a little too much
Quite a good plot but it became nonsensical toward the end, they should have just kept it simple and believable with a touch of sentiment. The "parallel reality" concept wasn't properly thought out, it resembled more of a virtual simulation identical to the mapping of prior events in reality which would have been a better take on the film, I think. Also, the main character seemed a bit lost, getting caught up in the idea that he really could save people?? It took a while before the film actually explained the true situation of the main character and we never got to see the underlying technology actually being constructed or tested, which would have been nice. If you're looking for something more plausible and compelling in terms of sci-fi I would opt to see "The Matrix" over this. End of line...:).

Great film. Angry about commercial unskippable ads!
5 stars for the film. A clever existential plot that keeps you guessing, and gives you something to think about at the end. Zero stars for the disk though due to 6 unskippable ads at the start including the first product ads I've seen on a commercial disk. Mars and Wriggleys. Pretty outragous for something I've bought.

Wonderfully executed concept
If you try and describe this film to a friend....it will probably sound appalling. Which is infuriating as this a just a fantastic movie with a hint back to yesteryear when you pretty much had a couple of locations to set the story. The story itself, however,is so good that it doesn't need a plethora of locations and sub stories. It's a fascinating look at time travel, humanity and ethics.Acted faultlessly and with a ending of hope.

Brilliant film, wonderfully fulfilling
Different, intriguing, engrossing that ultimately is a love story that spans time and parallel universes. No big name actors and all the better for it - allowed me to get deeper into the story without thinking, "oh, there's so and so playing that role". Can't think of anything to fault this film - acting, scripting, directing, music, photography are all superb. A highly recommended thriller.
