The Helping Hand Company Classic Pro Reacher Grabber 32” / 81cm. Long Handled Grabber Stick for Elderly, Disabled, or Anyone Struggling When Bending and Reaching

This is my third grabber, I have arthritis and can't bend. The other two were the two sided plastic claw style. They worked great at first but gradually the grip goes and they are no longer useful for small things like a pen dropped on the floor. After about a year, they won't grip firm enough to pick even a fairly light item of clothing. It's early days with this grabber but I'm hopeful because out of the box it is superior and seems to offer the potential to tighten it over time. I can lift a heavy towel with it or pick up a pencil. The clothes hook works well to grab the waist band on trousers once you get them over your feet. I also like the square shape it feels strong and clips well to my walking stick. Really useful! Added bonus the shaft rests steady on the floor. This is helpful because although you wouldn't want to lean on it, you can apply a little pressure. This would damage the plastic double claws on the other design. Reasonable price and good delivery.

Absolutely the best! After still using my late mother's which is over 15 years old, and after an operation that meant I couldn't stoop to pick things up, I bought another for upstairs..It is incredible - versatile, strong enough to bring down a plastic jar of syrup or a packet of cereal from the top shelf in a kitchen cupboard - to being delicate enough grip to pick up single specs of fluff from the floor - or even a tiny seed!With two lengths of handle, and British made - I recommend it 100%, and worth every penny!

Mine arrived without the tip shown in the photo which according to the instructions should have been a magnet. On closer inspection it appears to have been broken off but wasn't in the package. That said it's an incredibly useful tool for anyone having hip replacement surgery as you aren't allowed to bend in certain ways making picking anything up from the floor impossible without one of these and the soft rubber allows you to grip awkward or delicate items easily. It is a little limited strength wise but using a some care I can load and unload my washing machine and tumble dryer with even large wet items like towels or sheets. It's not strong enough to lift a large wet towel without concern but they can be 'fed' in and out of a basket in front of the machine without too much difficulty. All in all a must have for anyone who can't bend down and it only loses points for quality control which may be unfair on a sample of one so I would definitely recommend it.

I have had this for nearly 4 years and still good! I needed a second one and don't know why i chose another brand but that one broke after months. I will get another of these instead now

A great quality long handled grabber. Excellent claw action for picking up items. Magnetic tip very useful for retrieving fallen keys and small metal objects. Bought this style as I feel the the pincer action is easier for picking up smaller items than the other style. Got this longer grabber to enable me to close/open my trickle window vents, which I can’t reach myself. This stick/grabber is very sturdy as unlike my other shorter model, it is rigid and does not dislocate/disconnect when picking up something a bit heavier. Very impressed with this model and I can recommend. Lovely and lightweight and the handle is comfortable and ideal for my arthritic hand/s. Happy customer. Many thanks.

This is the best style of helping hand tool. The construction quality is top notch. I’m lost without this tool due to recovering from recent surgery.

Picks up what needs to be picked up - no problems!

I have bought so many reachers over the past 2 years. I wish I had seen these first!These are amazing.They are the perfect length.The handles on them fit your hand so nicely.They hook right over the front of my rollator, so no trying to find a place to store them and they are right there, within easy reach.They look very nice and professional.If I had to name one bad thing, it would be that the little nub on the end broke off when I was using it, BUT the other features are so great I did not let that factor in my 5-star rating!I was a little earful of the price, but they are well worth it!

Ich habe einige Greifhilfen ausprobiert. Mit denen, die ich bereits entsorgt habe, dürften es etwa 5 unterschiedlichen Marken gewesen sein (incl 1 aus dem Sanitätshaus)...alle Mist! Einige funktionieren mit Zähnen aus Plastik, sind die abgenutzt kann man die Greifhilfe wegschmeisssen. Zudem kann man mit keiner Greifhilfe so präzise Dinge aufheben wie mit dieser hier!Mit dieser kann ich sogar einen Nähfaden vom Boden aufheben, der nun wirklich sehr schwer zu greifen ist. Dies ist jetzt auch schon meine 3te Bestellung und nun habe ich in jedem Zimmer eine Greifhilfe Helping Hands Classic Pro liegen.Das Beste ist jedoch das sie so gut wie unkaputtbar ist!Reisst das Seil doch einmal, ist es Kinderleicht austauschbar. Einfach die schwarze Abdeckung über die Länge mit einem kleinen Schraubenzieher abheben und abnehmen, das alte Seil entfernen, ins neue Seil oben einen Doppelknoten reinmachen, einhängen, bis unten durchfädeln, den Haken unten vorsichtig entfernen, ein paarmal um den Haken wickeln, Haken wieder einsetzen, fertig.Im Vergleich zu anderen Greifhilfen die nicht präzise greifen können, nach ein paar Monaten kaputt sind o.ä. ist sie preislich sogar sehr günstig.
