Good little gadget. Given me some freedom back after surgery.No bending forward or loading washing machines. This enabled me to put washing in the washing machine and dryer. Bit awkward as hook tries to pull washing back out but manage to keep it in there with bit of determination. I would have gladly paid to have a seperate hook. Keep dropping things on the floor, this picks it up. Bit of a struggle if things like cans are close together. You have to seperate the item. Round tubs arent easy, eg salt . Difficult to grip. Be prepared to drop things. Make sure if its dropped and comes open you shall be able to clean the mess. Practise is required. I couldnt fill a washing machine cap and get it in the washer, now i have mastered it! Pity there isnt one for slightly heavier items. Cannot solve sll your situations but i have found it to be a valuable asset and i am pleased Amazon lists it on here.

A great quality long handled grabber. Excellent claw action for picking up items. Magnetic tip very useful for retrieving fallen keys and small metal objects. Bought this style as I feel the the pincer action is easier for picking up smaller items than the other style. Got this longer grabber to enable me to close/open my trickle window vents, which I can’t reach myself. This stick/grabber is very sturdy as unlike my other shorter model, it is rigid and does not dislocate/disconnect when picking up something a bit heavier. Very impressed with this model and I can recommend. Lovely and lightweight and the handle is comfortable and ideal for my arthritic hand/s. Happy customer. Many thanks.

REALY HANDY WHEN YOU FIND IT HARD TO BEND DOWN TO PICK THINGS UP BUT NOT VERY STRONG

This is my third grabber, I have arthritis and can't bend. The other two were the two sided plastic claw style. They worked great at first but gradually the grip goes and they are no longer useful for small things like a pen dropped on the floor. After about a year, they won't grip firm enough to pick even a fairly light item of clothing. It's early days with this grabber but I'm hopeful because out of the box it is superior and seems to offer the potential to tighten it over time. I can lift a heavy towel with it or pick up a pencil. The clothes hook works well to grab the waist band on trousers once you get them over your feet. I also like the square shape it feels strong and clips well to my walking stick. Really useful! Added bonus the shaft rests steady on the floor. This is helpful because although you wouldn't want to lean on it, you can apply a little pressure. This would damage the plastic double claws on the other design. Reasonable price and good delivery.

One of the most useful tools to have at hand, can aid in dressing, picking dropped objects or in the supermarket to get goods from out of reach. Quality is great and pricing even better. Folding ones fit a bag or a case to travel with

I have two of these - one for upstairs and one downstairs. They are invaluable if you are unable to bend down to retrieve small items and can also be used to open and close curtains. I would definitely recommend them. They are well-made and good value for money.

Really handy, picks up items if I drop them without having to bend. Clips onto my walker so always handy whichever room I am in. Even helps when I put my socks on.

Has a nice feel of quality. I did manage to pick up a credit card (did try2 out of 3 times) nice action, it is just a aid, does what it needs to do. Magnet is ok, as a grabber it is good. When I did contact Helpinghand for some extra info (I asked about getting any replacement twine for the grabber) & was told, if or when the twine breaks Phone up helpinghand & we will send you some twine, the phone number is printed on the product. This is the second one I have purchased, because I wanted to keep a spare grabber in another locations. As a person that needs to have a grabber near by. (I have purchased two other makes before buying this make) other make of grabber No1) The metal cable snapped in 3 months, I did replace with metal cable with twine. No2) a pivot connector broke after 10 months. The helping hands product has lasted longer & is still working as it should. this does seem to out last other makes I have purchased.
