Loved everything about Satin Empire!
Loved it! This is a story about two people, who for very different reasons, felt unseen by those who were supposed to love them, care for them; as if they were only good for one thing and their desires, dreams didn't matter. But they will come to 'see' each other, and together, their dreams will be fulfilled. At 36 Carlo Rossi is the youngest in his mafia family. His oldest brother, Renzo is the don; Carlo is the muscle, the one they call when someone needs a lesson or when enemies need to be found and questioned or unalived. He loves his family and will do anything for them, but he has some deep seated issues with how they see him.Stepdaughter to Orsino, another mafia don in their town, twenty-one year old Alana has no clue who she is or what she wants. Orsino's old school and the older she got, the tighter the reigns...not allowed friends, never allowed to go anywhere alone, no college; she was lucky to graduate high school. Chief caretaker and babysitter for her half brother since she was twelve, it was the only use Orsino had for a stepdaughter he never wanted...until now when she's been ordered to marry Carlo to form an alliance with the Rossi mafia family.Mama's no help because she's always forced her to do Orsino's bidding for fear of losing her liifestyle. She sneaks out of the house and goes to Carlo's strip club hoping to meet him and get his helpnin getting out of this arrangement. But things don't go as planned when his club manager mistakes her for a new stripper. Sometimes Alana can be impetous and what ensues is too funny.Carlo doesn't want this marriage either. He thinks she's beautiful and is intrigued, but with 15 years between them, he thinks she's too young. He takes pity on her and agrees to talk to his brother, though he knows it will do no good...he is the only brother unmarried and this alliance is needed and in the end, he will do what's needed.I love how Carlo understands her, how he's so patient with her and does his best to make things easier for her. I love how she begins to realize there's so much more to him than she originally thought; how she goes from wanting out of the marriage to realizing maybe the freedom she's always sought is right there, with him. I love the teasing and the banter between them and how they supported each other and made themselves better people for it. 5 stars.

Sacrifice
Feeling like he's only good for killing. His brothers never allow him to stretch his wings. Even to the point of forcing him to marry a too you of a female that's is too I mature for him.She was forced to do what her stepfather told her because she was afraid he would harm her mother. After accepting they had no choice in the marriage, they realized they had more in common then they wanted.

Dark Mafia Romantic Suspense!
This is the final Rossi brother to fall. Carlo is the happy go lucky killer in the family. But after meeting his arranged bride he wants to be more. He thought he was just doing his duty to family but when he sees his fiance stripping his protective and possesive instincts kick in. And that first contact lights a fire in him. Alana Milano hates that she has no choice in marrying Carlo. But her stepfather insists and her mother will not stand up for her. She goes to Carlo’s strip club to talk to him. But is mistaken as the new dancer/stripper. Well she gets her chance to talk to him. But her stunt backfires. Carlo is fifteen years older and tells her she is immature. This sets up their rocky romance. There are lots of danger and passion. And soon Alana is falling for her husband. And Carlo was hooked at first sight. I thoroughly enjoyed this fast paced read. I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for the baby sister.

3.5 for Satin Empire
This is the first book I’ve read in the Rossi Crime Family series, and of course there are characters in this book from previous books. It didn’t have any impact on my reading understanding or enjoyment. What I liked: I liked that Alana didn’t grow up in a mafia family. I enjoyed the banter between her and Carlo. I liked that Carlo allowed her to be free and find herself. I also enjoyed that Carlo wanted to do more than be the fist and guns of the Rossi family. I loved that Alana and Carlo became a true team despite being forced into marriage. What I disliked: Carlo’s constant and repetitive thoughts about Alana being too young for him, when he himself acted like he was in his twenties. I kept forgetting he was supposed to be 15 years older. They acted with the same maturity IMO. He was like a horny 20 year old. Alana’s repetitive thoughts on her mom and gran. I wish Alana and her mom could’ve had a more open conversation with each other cause I was left feeling like nothing was resolved between them. Alana just let it go even though her mom’s choices had a huge impact on her. Then there’s Alana’s lack of relationship with Orsino and although he’s her stepfather his presence at her party felt misplaced even though it wasn’t harped on. I also really disliked the use of the curse word GD. I almost DNF early in the book because it was being said by Carlo every five words. I had to stop and do a word count for it because it was said soooo much by him in a short period of time.Overall I finished feeling like many things were thrown in here that weren’t fully fleshed out or resolved. My favorite part of the story was how they met and that she’s a Buffy fan.

Always a great read from BB
Carlo Rossi is the last of his brothers to find and fall for his woman. His first meeting with his arranged marriage bride, Alana, is when she is mistaken for a stripper at his club. A mafia family, forced proximity romance, with a possessive, grumpy husband.I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Great writing
Really enjoyed this story, the writer really draws you in to the lives of the families in this story. Lots of spice that fits in with a very strong overall story. Characters are well drawn and bring the story to life. Recommend you put a few hours aside to be able to just enjoy the book. Look forward to reading more by this author.
